Really shifty people will say one rate on the phone and then charge you another rate. Worst experience ever will never recommend these to anyone. Go for a good professional company DON'T FALL FOR THEIR LOWER RATE SCAM AS YOU'LL EVENTUALLY END UP PAYING MORE.  Referring to the comment: We did pick up your call to inform you we won't be able to return your vehicle that day and one of your staff member said that we would be charged a penalty of  $100 which we agreed to pay but you charged us the penalty and the extra rental day. Even though agreed upon rate for the weekdays is 85 you charged us 96 for the  3 days including the weekend. So to me it seems dodgy when your staff don't have any knowledge of the fare breakdown and nobody has a clue who calculated the fare. How come you guys have after hours drop off system in place and have no idea when we returned the truck even though we called your number and somebody opened the gate for us and you have security cameras in place so another point goes to being dodgy.

My honest review. I rented a moving truck for the weekend. They price is great, truck does the job, not the nicest but doesn’t have to be. Just needed to move stuff so that all is good. The bad, they lack communication skills to explain why I rent a truck for 2 days cost me 110 a day, but because I return it one day earlier, 1 day cost me 150. Had to find out myself that ordering a truck 1 day on Saturday cost just more. 2 months later they suddenly charge me 5 dollar from my credit card without upfront communication why. After a call they said it is processing cost for a fine or something . Haven’t received the fine yet, can take 1 or 2 weeks he said but they can just charge me 5 dollar. Am fine to pay but normal business communicate upfront and clear, unfortunate they don’t, they said it is in the contract and I signed the contract. Which is fair but still you can send me a mail that they received a fine and will charge me the 5 dollar. No issues for me.  But now I was about to report the transaction and block my card. It is just annoying and makes them feel shady which they might not be at all. So if you want cheap rental which does the job, go for them and hope all goes smooth.

Rented an Iveco Daily van for my moving. Very new clean big van for a reasonable rate. Friendly supportive staff. Same day deposit refunded. Definitely my next car rental place. Highly recommend. Well done Lions.

Staffs are very polite, price is the best! Truck driving very good. Clean. The bond come back straight away into my account after I return the truck. I will recommend to my friends. And if I need a truck or van 100% come back to lion.

Worst experience ever!! You'll end up playing more than you anticipated and top these so called professional don't even have the basic etiquette to explain the fare break down when they clearly mentioned the 85 on their website and on call else but charge you 96 per day for 3 days even though the truck was returned within 46 hours. Well definitely complain to proper authorities..

Bad experience  not recommended to anyone.Vehicle with noisy breaks. I rented their vehicle to go to Sydney. They charged $60 only for forwarding the toll notice to my name. They told me 15 dollar for administration charge if they get toll notice .when I checked my credit statements 4 times $15. They sent me a mail only for $15. Double the amount of toll charge is their administration fee. Be careful will not recommend to anyone.

I rented a truck from here a couple of times. Everything went smoothly, and it was very affordable. Great customer service, and very low rates compared to other providers. Would definitely recommend Lion Car Rentals.

Worst staff lack communication skills. Manager will not entertain you once you're at their location but you'll definitely get a call from them justifying their fare once you give a bad review on here. Highly irresponsible and non-professional people. They didn't have any justification as to how they came up with the amount they charged my account. Now will come up with the lamest excuse once they see this review. On top of that they had the guts to say that they have banned me from their business like I would go back to them after what they had done to me. Will surely l launch an official complaint with VCAT & ACC. I hope these shify scammers suffer the way they gave me stress.

Pretty straightforward hiring.  Staff are polite, the cars/vans are clean and in great condition. The prices are excellent . Really gives Budget hire, Hertz, Avis... a run for its money. Would never hire from those bigger companies again.

Dodgy people charge around 500$ for two days and initial charge for one day is 115$ even they dont know themself how to calculate the fares and staff dont know how to handle customer and manager dont have the guts to come out and explain how they calculate the fares. Not recommended in any circumstances
