After trying numerous salons in Melbourne, I can finally say that I have foumd my go-to one. Went to Linear for full haircolour and highlights but they were very honest to let me know that it would ruin my hair as I had done permanent hair straightening 2 months back. Goes to say without doubt that they really care about the customer. Also Kyah did a perfect cut for my hair and was very friendly too. Lovely service and staff, but not enough questions asked and confirmation between client and stylist. I'm sure a bit more communication on my behalf would have helped, so it's not completely their fault. My 2/5 rating is based on the cut I received. My chosen cut was simple, and I booked with a particular stylist I chose from browsing their IG based on their work with mid-length hair. However it wasn't until the end of the appointment when the receptionist wrote the stylist's name on a card for me to rebook in future that I realised it was not the stylist requested. It never occurred to me to ask at the start, and the stylist didn't introduce herself either. The online booking system gives you the option to choose anyone or a particular stylist, so I guess for anyone else in the future, maybe confirm on the day of appointment in case unless you really don't mind. I had two services done, a haircut and toner. The latter was fine, but the haircut somewhat average. After showing the stylist the picture, we agreed on a blunt cut and she said she'd add a few layers to give it some body as my hair is naturally very flat. However, I assumed these layers would be hidden. I also requested some light face framing done, and she agreed and said they'd be about my chin, however after she cut them, I realised they sit about an inch from it. There was also no blending of them into the rest of the haircut either, so they sit quite blunt and awkwardly unless they are curled. Which is why I didn't notice until I washed my hair out a few days later that the cut was really not quite what I wanted. I left the salon very happy on the day after the styling, but now have realised that I will have to continue to curl it everyday or else it looks very choppy. This is unfortunate as the cut I wanted was low maintenance look, but now have the opposite. I would come back for their toner services, but not for a cut correction/ cut in future. Just make sure you are very clear with what you want from the beginning as to not have any confusion at the end. Attached is a picture of what I asked for, what I left the salon like, and what it looks like after my first wash. Luckily I have 6 weeks now to grow the fringe out.
I’ve had good experiences in the past at this salon. However, the last time I went I received the worst haircut of my life. It’s about 2 inches shorter than I asked for and has these ridiculous choppy layers. My friends keep asking me if it was a junior or apprentice hair dresser- but it was a senior stylist! Lol. I’m so upset about it I have to wear my hair up all the time now. I told the salon I wasn’t happy with the cut not for a refund or anything, just sent pictures of how bad it was the next day and they agreed it was terrible and offered me a free service for next time. I’ve decided not to back though. I recommend looking at the pictures they have online and try and find a stylist that knows what they’re doing.. Because it’s hit and miss apparently

Got my haircut their for the first time today Tuesdayit was done by Kyah, absolutely loved it she restyled my layers and gave me what I wanted also a big huge shout out to Bree 3rd year apprentice absolutely nailed my blow wave it was perfect thank you .Today is Friday and my hair is still perfect have not had to run the hair dryer over my hair
Linear hair is one of the best hair salon in the west. From staff to owner you will find the team very professional and friendly. I have always loved their service and yesterday my Mrs got her hair done and was buzzing with joy. I haven’t seen her this happy in years in regards to her hair. Thank you Tammy for looking after my Mrs yesterday, you are a legend mate. Thank you to the entire Linear team for the amazing job you are doing.
