High on a hill right next to the Maroondah highway though you'd barely know it through the double brick walls. It's part of a respectable chain but family run, with fair dinkum retro seventies style and a garden that includes fruit trees. It makes a handy base for day trips around the ranges and wineries without eating too much of the budget. There's also plenty of parking for large vehicles if you feel like getting out of the truck or motor home for a swim and stretch your legs. Yes they do get referrals for people who need to get away from it all for less pleasant reasons. The staff are lovely and helpful. It's a reminder of the old fashioned country hospitality you sometimes hear about but don't see much of these days. I've extended my stay.

Very dated. Dusting needed badly. Staff were wonderful.

Very old decore 1970s feel. Never been renovated. Sofa in the lounge room dirty and broken. Sewer smell is coming from the shower drain. Uncomfortable beds. Old furniture.

Not very good facilities, although the night shift worker Ali is a really awesome guy and confidante. There's a lot of women and children staying here regularly due to their need to escape domestic violence and so this place is essentially about the security and stability that is so desperately needed by so many vulnerable people.
