Located in the centre of the CBD, this area is always bustling! I really enjoyed dining here, the ambience was really relaxing, the waiters were friendly and accommodating. Every dish we ordered was well put together. The sour cherry goats cheese eclaire was a unique one-of-a-kind dish, where the flavours were a combination of sweet and savoury mixed together.
Love the interior but also love sitting in the laneway. Came in for drinks and snacks - loved the oyster with hot sauce, eclair, but especially the pig’s head doughnut. Great service and will def be back to try their mains.
Simply 5 stars. Amazing service, incredible ambiance and an excellent selection of food and wine…
Kirk's manages to feel luxe, yet down-to-earth. The food is seasonal, meaning you are guaranteed quality. I've tried their gnocchi, steak frites, and chocolate pave' thus far, all of which were superb. I love the location in one of Melbourne's famous laneways, and that I'm not made to feel like a burden by dining solo. Staff are polite and professional.
Menu is just alright. Wine’s fine no complaints. Great atmosphere and decoration due to the location. Customer service wise — 1/10. Forgot to take the order from me, fine. No dramas. But the attitude the waitress has for me for not being bubbly and chirpy to her is just unimpressive. You don’t expect me to be bubbly and chirpy after waiting for you to grab my order after 20 minutes, can you? Again, not mad, I just merely don’t have energy to entertain you or to make you feel like kings or queens.
Kirk's has been here for such a long time it has probably become a Melbourne icon. A favourite of many business people in the area. A wonderful European atmosphere. A simple delicate menu that is a delight to sample through. The staff are well trained and make sure you feel welcome. An extensive wine list ensures that your every need is catered for. You cannot visit Melbourne without giving this wonderful restaurant a visit.
They were very accomodating to fit a group of 7 people. Small intimate setting. Excellent selection of top shelf wins. Prices were definitely on the steeper side with $19 for a basic Tassie Pinot. Great place for pre dinner nibbles & drinks.
Very disappointing. About to sit back to share a bottle of wine with my husband and was told our young daughter couldn’t sit with us due to the milkshake she bought across the lane. They obviously did not value the $100+ we were about to spend vs the $13 milkshake. Shame.
Came here for a late night dessert and was very impressed by the quality of the crème brûlée! Phenomenal!
Always nice wine and good atmosphere for a date. Prices are very high and sizes of meals are very small, but it does feel like the quality is there.
