Station looks a little old but functions well - which is the important thing! The main escalator entry from Darlinghurst Rd could be enlivened by photos, as has been done with historical pics of the area on the walls of the escalators leading to the platforms. The commercial area on the ticketing hall level looks tired.
Always clean and with good illumination. The fastest way to get to CBD or Central. Have mechanical stairs and elevator. Inside the station are some little stores where to grab a snack or a coffee, also an ATM and where to charge your Opal. In the mornings really crowd but other times of the day is nearly empty
It's the Station once steamy now stupifying King's Cross had to have, replete with vacuoles, obstacles and ageism. A 60's experience in a current environment of loss and nostalgia. But anything new would be bland and expensive, so a flash-back to the sixties it has to be. What King's Cross had to have. Trains arrive and leave to, eastwards, Edgecliff and Bondi Junction, but sadly and stupidly no further Bondi Beach, for example; and westward to the City and beyond including Central Station. Take the ride.
Sydney trains have really got their act together. Clean, efficient and well serviced by the few kiosks that are near the exits. Don't forget your Opal card!nnEdit: To avoid confusion, suggest the next station signage all have 'next station' in larger letters font than the station name.
As a tourist and only being here for a couple days we have found that the station staff have been nothing but rude and unhelpful. We had an incident and made one of the staff members aware and all he did was raise his voice and added in an unwanted analogy that made us feel uncomfortable. When we escalated it we didn’t feel any more understood, the situation is still unresolved.
