Really enjoying this gym so far! It’s clean, well-equipped, and has such a great community vibe, I’ve noticed most people are respectful and wipe down machines after use, which makes a big difference. nnThe staff are super friendly and welcoming too. I had a tour with Vivian and ended up signing up straight after. The space is always clean and tidy, and there’s usually a staff member on the floor keeping things organised and putting equipment back in place, which I love.nnOnly downside is there’s no sauna or spa. I also noticed there are hair dryer holders installed, would be great if that’s something being added soon. Hope so!nnOverall, really happy with it
Friendly and helpful staff. The prices are good value especially for 'casual shooting '. Access is easy because the South Kensington station is within walking distance.
Our daughter lives in Kensington and we visited in March from the UK. We wanted to use the pool most days and I waned to attend a yoga class. The reception staff were brilliant at setting up a membership for us for 1 month and we did swim nearly every day.nThe pool is great and was very quiet during the mornings.nThe changing rooms were cleaned regularly and were excellent.nThe yoga class was very good - Anne is a good teacher. It was a bit advanced for me but she was good at giving simpler versions of the poses.nOverall, our experience of this centre was just excellent in every respect.
I understand that people run late because of commuting/ trains/ traffic. But the centre has the worst process in place for when this happens with a fitness instructor.nYoga class at 7:15, I walk through the door at 7:08 with my yoga mat, greet the staff at the reception. I just happened to look at my phone and saw an email sent 3 minutes prior that the class has been rescheduled for 7:45. I decided to walk up to the room to put mat down and go for a walk. When I got to the room, there was someone waiting who had no idea the class was rescheduled.nThe staff take no initiative. 3 people at the desk and no one thought to print a note about the class being rescheduled to stick it on the class room door. No one bothered to walk up to notify the person already in the room.nThis is not the first time it’s happened. On another occasion a room of about 12 people waiting for 15 minutes and the instructor doesn’t show up. It was up to one of us to go to reception to ask what was happening. Staff didn’t think to let us know that the instructor called in sick.nIt seems like the centre is run by very inexperienced managers, staff are not given adequate training but also have no understanding of what good customer service is and take no initiative.nnOn the facilities; I wonder how often the space gets cleaned. Two of the three showers on the top floor have been dirty on multiple occasions and the other has been out of order since November. The floors appear dusty in the group fitness class rooms.nnThere are no good membership options for people wanting to attend classes only, or gym only- you have to get a full membership.nThen there is the 24/7 access, but facilities are closed on public holidays with no communication.nnIve had a membership since the opening but I’m considering cancelling it.
I had been here 3 times with my daughter, paying casually each time. She regularly has a sport commitments on a weekend, so a membership doesn’t make sense. On the 4th occasion, I was told by a group of 5 staff behind the desk doing what, it is unclear that I should never have been let in to use the gym without some form of assessment on their end, and therefore my daughter and I were denied entry. I asked if anyone on the desk could do it now - as mentioned 5 of them dagging around doing nothing on a Saturday afternoon. No, I’m afraid. I suggested this was very poor messaging - that they should be encouraging young people to focus on their health and fitness, not literally blocking entry. Again, five faces stared blankly back at me with nothing to say. Waste of time. Waste of space.
