I had previously been with other agents in the local area in the past which I was not totally happy with. My experience to date with Christine, Lyn, Brittany in the rental department has been that they have the maturity, integrity and decisiveness to screen tenancy applicants resulting in the best applicants for my properties thus resulting in rent being paid on time. It is also reassuring to know they are extremely thorough in their routine inspections, ensuring the properties are being looked after to a high standard. They also handle all issues pertaining to my properties professionally and promptly by liaising with all parties for the duration of the tenancy. This saves things getting out of hand and I have full confidence in the rental team where I have added more properties to my portfolio and recommended other potential landlords .

The ladies in the rental department have been wonderful to deal with since the start of our tenancy. We've rented through quite a few agencies and have never found a more friendly team, who are helpful, informative and quick to respond to any inquiries/maintenance concerns. We could not be happier with the service we have received and will be sad to go now that we are moving into our own home.

For inspections, My partner and I cleaned the whole house top to bottom. But in my sister's bedroom, there were some toys in a pile away from the walkway (by some I mean like 2 dolls, a plush toy, and some leggo), my study desk and pens and paper on it, the kitchen bench had 1 glass of water and a loaf of bread in its packaging, along the bathroom sink were skin care products all lined up neatly, and the lawn was mowed 2 weeks prior (meaning the grass had only grown by a few cm). She came by and left a card on the table requesting that I reschedule. When I called and asked why, she was not nice about it. She said "your house is so incredibly messy and untidy." I tried to be really nice and ask her "oh which room? Can you please specify so I can get it sorted?" And she replied "um, like everywhere. It's just all over. Is your house always like that?" It was incredibly condescending. We were incredibly offended because for every inspection, we deliberately always take extra measures to keep the house looking spotless and in our previous 2 inspections, it has never ever been a problem. Do you realise that a house with people normally living in it doesn't usually look like a display home? Whatever is on my desk should not concern you, as long as there are no dents in the wall, stains on the carpets or surfaces, grime, obstruction of walkway, or rodents and bugs infested in the house, it should be fine. No house with an actual family living in it will look like a display home and yet I tried really hard to make it look like it was as empty as possible. Every single week I make sure to bleach all the toilets and sinks, I mop and vacuum constantly and every 2 to 3 weeks, the grass is mowed despite the fact that hardly any grass ever grows. There is not a single dent in the wall that I've made as a tenant. There is not a single stain that I've made as a tenant. I asked my family and friends who were renting with other agencies and they said half the time when there is an inspction, they'll be in the kitchen cooking with stuff on the benches and dishes in the sink or they'll be studying and there'll be books and pens everywhere. There's a difference to being 'thorough' and being mean and condescending.

The sales team are lovely and professional, I've bought through them before but but the rental dept is so awful it cancels it out. I wish I'd never trusted them to manage my property. They are also very expensive and charge statement fees, gst on those fees etc when many places don't. There's one woman they should ban from answering phones although it's quite comical to hear her answer and say 'Kay Charles Real Estate' in the biggest yobbo bogan voice ever heard which is far more reminiscent of a tacky comedy show than of an actual person answering phones in a professional environment. It's really bad. So is the way they treat their landlords from my experience. Avoid like the plague. I would rather stick pins in my own eyes than have to deal with them again.
