Story

This is the Official page of the Kardinia Park Stadium Trust and GMHBA Stadium which plays host to the mighty Cats; Geelong Football Club during the AFL Premiership Season.

GMHBA Stadium is more than meets the eye; even though it proudly plays host to the Geelong Football Club there are so many more reasons to come and be a part of this extraordinary community based facility.

Throughout the years, GMHBA Stadium had undergone a number of redevelopments and upgrades, which has enabled the Stadium to become a first-class multipurpose venue and putting it in good stead for the future.

Was invited to watch the Melbourne Victory play. The seats were comfortable, thankfully they were shared the day I went. The stands have certainly upgraded since I was a kid who went to a game of AFL. There are still parking problems and public transport is not the easiest way. Family friendly and a great time at the soccer

Great regional stadium with all the facilities that you would not expect to find outside of a major capital city. A jewel in Geelong.

Want to watch the Melbourne Victory A-League game and was pretty disappointed. The food and drink were your standard ridiculously overpriced stadium fare. My wife was starving and ended up paying $15 for a 'gourmet' sausage and coke. To be fair, the ground is an oval with cricket / AFL in mind. Unfortunately, this makes for a really bad viewer experience for any sport with a rectangular field as no seats are very close to the field. The ground was almost entirely empty in the wings, which is where the best seating is on my opinion. This is because it was all reserved for allocated (read more extensive) seating but almost nobody went for it. I don't think the stadium was even 25% full but the general admission areas were probably about 80%. The worst thing was the security at the gates. It was a 41°C day but the security staff made you tip out all liquids before entering the stadium. They did have refill stations for water just inside but this doesn't help if you had an electrolyte or chilled drink prepared for the extreme heat. I've been to countless sporting events but never experienced this kind of treatment before.
