Nice new building with a huge amount of information and products for tourists. Receptionists can give great advice and book hotels and activities for you.

Kaik is starting to get back to the place it was.when we stopped in 2 months ago the whale watch boats were going out for first time since their big earth quake.place is coming back together alot smoother than chch has.friendly people and good food

So disappointing, went in to find out about mountain biking tracks. The lady confirmed which way to the St.James track entrance, and said it was best to drive (she didn’t even ask what sort of car I had). When we went there in a 4-wheel drive the roads were closed and quite treacherous, a local told us the roads were tricky even for a 4wd and she suggested another route which also happened to be closed. 
 I-site sort it out! How can you send people into tracks without knowing the access facts - people are relying on you for safety and good information - so poor!!

Confusing. Seemed to always go to the wrong counter (why is there two counters....) lots of staff but seemed overwhelmed with only a couple people. When we asked for tickets to dolphin encounter they made a point of explaining to us they weren't dolphin encounter (duh) before telling us to talk to another desk for information.
