It has been years since I have been to a dentist. I was quite nervous, however, my tooth was more painful. Firstly, Bridget on reception was very friendly and welcoming. Dr Chen made me feel quite relaxed and less stressed. The next day Bridget rang to ask how I was going I was in so much pain. She advised me to call today if still no change, there was no change I got an appointment with Dr Christie. Wow, she was so quick to resolve my issue which was dry socket. The pain has pretty much subsided if I could I would give them a hundred stars and I have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone. Thank you all so much. Sonja T

I brought my 4 year old daughter here for her first dentist appointment today. Wow. Staff are so kind and friendly and it was such a relief to watch how inviting and playful they were with her. She was nervous and wasn't sure what to expect and it was just so wonderful to see the amazing staff do their thing! Thank you so much for being so good at your jobs! It really is appreciated.

Ethical issues with this practice; excellent dentist but poor reception staff. Took a deposit as said that I had cancelled "at short notice three times". Not true, I actually rebooked to come on the same day and turned up and paid on one of them, gave advance notice on the other that I was unable to come and forgot one appointment and was very apologetic the third time. The staff were blunt and confrontative about it when I tried to rebook, and demanded a $50 deposit - which I said 'fine' to. They had no availabilities for weeks, so I didn't end up making an appointment. They didn't offer an emergency appointment, at that time. They insisted that I needed to pay for a full examination before they would let me get my urgent matter sorted with the hygienist - and wouldn't let me do it in the reverse order, despite my acute pain. When I rang back a few weeks later, the staff were less tactless, finally admitted they had emergency appointments and still required a deposit, which I happily agreed to. They said if I wasn't coming, and told them within 48 hours of the appointment, they would either refund or keep it as a credit. I found another dentist who was able to see me sooner and left a message on their phone to cancel weeks in advance of the appointment. However they happily kept my deposit and made no effort to contact me about a refund. When I called, the aggressive staff started quibbling and humiliating me again about why they needed a deposit because I "cancelled three times", this was not the matter at hand; I had already given a deposit. Then they denied that they had promised a refund and repeatedly claimed that they only offered a credit. They said they would only send a cheque out - very inconvenient for me to bank a cheque. They never said the refund would be in the way of a cheque. She argued and argued that she hadn't told me that she would refund it, and argued and argued that she hadn't said the refund would be electronic. She talked over me the whole time and dismissed me when I questioned the ethics. It was obvious that she had no idea how to process an electronic refund and therefore was refusing to seek help. In the end she rang me back after the dentist told her to process the refund / and it was done. A very good dentist let down by a very unpleasant reception team. Note response below - they indeed initially said that a refund would be provided - despite again denying that. I was not offered an emergency appointment on the first call that was made at lunch time (not 5pm), nor even told that they existed; the second time I called I only found out about the option of calling early and getting an emergency appointment after I specifically asked if they offered them. The refund was NOT processed straight away, it required argument and insistence on my part, and rubbing into me my "three cancelled appointments" - and eventually an email agreeing to the refund and admitting that she didn't know how to do it because they have "brand new machines". I'm always very wary of businesses and people that fudge the facts.

This was my first time at this dentist, I called late afternoon and was in for a appointment no later than 2 hours later to which I am very appreciative of. This business ticked all boxes for me with a clean environment, professional and friendly staff and value for money. A true gem to its profession. Thank you.

I was recommended Ipswich Dental by a friend. I could not have asked for better care. Dr Chen made me feel very relaxed and at ease. He never seemed rushed or pre-occupied, which I have experienced with other dentists. He was courteous and explained everything in great detail. After explaining my financial situation, he created a quote for me for future work which was extremely reasonable, so I knew what I would need to budget. Thank you Dr Chen and team.
