Whilst enjoying a sunny afternoon in Carlton we stumbled across this Turkish gem of a restaurant. Figured we'd stop in for refreshments and something light. The owners were friendly and had an at table ordering service in place. The system was easy to navigate and our order came out quickly. Upon our next visit I'd definitely suggest trying a traditional Turkish kebab.
At tge suggestion of my friend, I visited this place with him. I had the mixed kebabs chicken and lamb, $16 while he had the mixed HSP $16. The place had a pretty traditional vibe with the owner and staff being friendly and courteous. The food was really good. A must visit for relishing some Turkish cuisine! Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options were available on the menu.
I frequent this place for when i crave mixed kebab meal chicken and lamb. Well flavoured and price is just right. For dessert, i go for kadayif and semolina cake. Delicious meal everytime!
I ordered the lamb kebab in Turkish bread and it was soooo good! Succulent slices of perfectly cooked tender lamb. Smothered in chilli and garlic sauce. I went back again for dinner the same night to snack on a beef borek. Not the most amazing thing but not bad.
very tasty Turkish foods, we love the Deluxe lamb Plater, Gozleme and the Kebab. Located just at the corner of Lygon street. Highly recomend. The owner and staff are very welcome. A good food with a decent price
Spied from our hotel window diagonally opposite, IloveIstanbul beckoned for the evening takeaway for these weary travellers. How fortunate the Deluxe lamb kebab platters with rice and salad were not only delicious but generous, we only needed one between two! Two kinds of dips and Turkish bread topped it off. Value!
Having lunch here and I was completely surprised by their tasty kebab compare to other places and so far they are the best in Melbourne.
One of the great Turkish/ Arabic eateries in Fitzroy. Visited this place earlier but last one when the lockdown was eased and visitors were allowed with vaccination proofs. The lady at the front desk is very friendly, always checking with you if you are comfortable with the food, served food on time, We have tried mixed Kebabs plate, fries and Turkish rice. Overall a nice experience.
Edit: they stopped doing donner and it seems to be a very chewy meat now. The Donner kebabs here are so so great. The turkish bread is always so fresh. A really good balance with an very generous amount of tender meat, not greasy at all. Good Garlic sauce and the salad is always fresh. Good either takeaway or ordered online for delivery. Good value too. Reply; the lamb would only be superior if it wasn’t cheap chewy cuts of meat. Bring back the doner until you can serve great real lamb that isn’t like leather bootlaces.
Good kebabs but hsp was the highlight. Good amount of chips, meat and sauce. Service could be better.
