Cracking little venue for gigs put on by Village Folk, lovely and warm on a cold evening like last night, 4/12, great staff and welcoming.
A fantastic events venue. I often take event photos there, so I know, people really enjoy the venue. There are constant improvements to venue infrastructure going on.
This was previously the old Melbourne Secondary school which was closed around the 1970s. It’s been reused as a community centre for various events and meetings from the Operatic Society to Slimming World. Thankfully the majority of it remains unchanged from when it was a school so anyone that went there can delight in reliving their past. This is a far better use of the land than building yet more houses.
Enjoyed a quick visit. Very cheerful stall owners. Somewhat expensive compared to ,say,Loughborough market
Lovely, quaint little place. Not much parking do be aware, and driving away at night is difficult as roads are narrow and dark
The craft fair I visited was lovely. I made some nice purchases from some individual makers
Lovely venue and staff. Great show from Mark Kingswood
Lovely hall. Well spaced chairs and very good aucustics. We attended a concert here and we're very impressed. Bar available but limited stocks. Need more non alcoholic beers especially.
Great intimate venue for live music
We are immensely fortunate living in Melbourne. But, on top of that good fortune, we also get to enjoy facilities like this, our very own 'assembly rooms'. This venue has, for several years now, been a 'Master of all venues, and Jack at none' and rewritten the book on commercial venues & community centres. Residents of Melbourne very often are cajoled into welcoming visitors to our prestigious 'Jewel in the Crown' when the venues 'Organiser Supremo' again manages to find an act or performers of such outstanding quality it negates the need to travel out to mainstream venues in Birmingham or London ...they come to us, and we get to walk home! Reluctantly..I have penned this review because, benevolently, Melbourne Assembly Rooms has facets that need to be experienced by ....those who have yet to become naturalised. Speak to Sue Hicklin & she will happily discuss what is coming up, and the facilities on offer to event organisers Correct at time of press , August 2022.
