We brought some lunch to have a picnic here since it was a nice day. We ate near the water playground area just by the grassy bank. The park was quite large and fairly busy, particularly the playground. I enjoyed walking along the two lakes of the park, watching the birds swimming about as well as people watching for a bit. There were also a few information boards around the park talking about the history or the animals in the park. It was nice to wander around and rest on grassy patches or benches when required. It was a nice park to visit with nice views and quite a nice atmosphere of everyone enjoying themselves. Definitely worth bringing things over for a picnic.
It's more than a family Park. Photographer can easily find spots to take beautiful photos. Walkways around the park for jogging, walking and cycling. Tables and chairs to have a rest. Playgrounds for different age group. Lots of shades area for lying down. Two lakes with ducks and birds. Coffee and food trucks...
I pay my respects to the Nungaar people and their elders past present and future, as the traditional custodians of this country. This is fantastic park is an absolute gem with a rich history for the traditional people of the area as well as the European settlers. An insane amount of work went to ensure it stays a pristine refuge for a myriad of water fowl. It’s a great place to bring kids to play, take your pooch for a walk, have a family fun day even wedding. It has been the inspiration for many a painting so the artsy people will adore the scenery, especially the very old trees. They have gazebos for groups, public toilets and a playground. The park also has exercise machines for the older members of society so also a great place for seniors.
I love Hyde Park, and not only because I can easily walk to it. There's a lovely lake to walk around, plus playground areas and a splash park for young children. The park is popular, with plenty of shady trees to sit under, as well as lots of benches dotted about the place. There are often musical events in the park too, making good use of the little stage area. Restrooms: There are a couple of public toilet blocks in the park.
Haven't been to Hyde Park for more than 12 years and I thought it was a good time to visit again for the autumn colors. Today, the trees around the lakes were still quite green, however there were a lot of people walking around the park, gathering on the grass areas, and different people doing different things even on a weekday! The park seemed to be more beautiful and well maintained as ever! Public toilets are available close to William Street. We will come back in about 3 weeks time to witness the autumn colors!
Spent my younger days here every week with my parents for picnics and play time. Visited last week for the first time in 60 years. Absolutely fantastic. Many changes from the early days. Recommended for tourists, families, especially kids. Well worth a visit. Playground: Great playground for kids. Restrooms: Has restrooms also and a small kiosk Picnic area: Many areas for picnics and relaxation
Absolutely beautiful throughout the year but especially in autumn. Pack a picnic rug and enjoy some treats from the bakery across the park Chu Bakery or pack your own food. Pram and kid friendly. Perfect for walks.
A serene place to rest and relax. Very calming. Sunny warm yet cold from the winter breeze at the same time makes it a unique experience for tourists.
A perfect place to slow down and take in nature. I visited Hyde Park for the first time today and was really impressed - I loved the variety of native flora and fauna that you can find around the park and the multitude of walking paths. The swans were the star of the show.
This park is stunning and extremely busy with heaps of people walking and having picnics because it’s so lovely. I would definitely recommend getting something from the bakery across the road and going for a walk to see the lovely bird life, it’s an easy paved walk that is short and sweet. Parking is available on the streets with a fee or time limit. “Jonique Life” If you find value in our reviews please consider following our social media outlets on Facebook and Instagram as we highlight magical places you can add to your ever growing bucket list.
