ive never been to the school but a teacher threw akidout awindow and the kid was never seen again its 100%real dm for more info and come to 182 dwyerstreetfroo more info
Best school I have seen so far in North. Well behaved students, dedicated teachers and welcoming environment for everyone. Few Sikh students use terban. I don't believe any other religious based school cater for different religion like they do. Highly recommended.
Wonderful & vast curriculum. Our daughter has absolutely flourished & grown thanks to the staff at this brilliant school. Inspite of, what seems like an endless lockdown, Teachers have been nothing short of exemplary in their teaching approach & efforts. I cannot be more prouder of the school in its entirety. Similarly, cannot be more of a prouder parent than I am of my daughter - a Hume Grammarian
this school is the worst school i have ever been to. in the schools mind its uniform>everything. the amount of times theyve changed their overpriced uniforms is disgusting at this point. on multiple occasions ive seen teacher breakdown crying in front of the class, scream or even threaten/do get violent. ive heard stories of a primary teacher kicking and throwing stuff at children. in my firsthand accounts they favour a multitude of students based on their appearance, last name, family and race. a teacher ripped off a relatives of mine earring which she had gotten a little less then 2 days ago and the school didnt even do anything to the teacher. in primary a friend of mine got screamed at and had to listen about a suicide in great detail. i wish i was joking, she was 11 when she had heard all of this. this school traumatised my family friend so badly she had to leave the school. another thing, the school gets people in more/less trouble depending on the victim. i have so much more i could say but i wont out of the idea that people should understand that this is only a small section of how horrible this school is if you really want to know more trust me i can deliver as much as you need.
This school has really good facilities, such as TV's, iPads, huge play areas, labs, sport centers, a stem center and many other things which are worth being noted! The teachers at Hume Anglican Grammar are understanding, and assist those who weak in academics, while they push those with more knowledge to go and learn more! If you are looking for a school to put your son or daughter into, I highly recommend putting them into this school!
Very good school, its teachers are genuinely interested in ensuring the students are learning, ready to reply to requests for help out of class times. There are many opportunities for almost all academic career paths. Excellent school.
This school is absolutely not worth the money! From my 2 years of personal experience, I would not recommended going to this school. I have had a bad experience in this school and would not recommend anyone else, unless they want to waste money. In 2016 13 of the teachers left and were changed throughout the year, which made it difficult to study for those subjects. The curriculum that they taught us was very poor, as the teachers that taught us, were constantly changing and didn't have experience. My maths teacher was a great teacher, and she had mastered in science from collage, yet they made her teach maths, to save themselves money. The school itself isn't actually a grammar school and also lacks basic resources, such as a gym, they didn’t have a permanent canteen until 2017 and their facilities are useless. We had to share a A/C remote between all of year 8, our clock didn’t actually work because the school couldn’t provide batteries; so it was permanently set at 7.00. So I wouldn't recommend anybody to join this school. Furthermore the school is not committed in any way. Many students join, only to leave shortly after discovering that the money is not worth it.
Education and teachers- 2/5 The curriculum is great, but within most of my classes, all of our teachers read off of a PowerPoint or directly from the book, limiting direct involvement from students. Most teachers rely on students to ask questions, but I believe they need to be asked for better involvement. The assessments and how unorganised the school is, is actually amazing. All assessments are within the same time as other subjects' assessments, and teachers do not recognise that we have other subjects for which we have assessments and homework. Especially within exam time, we are suffocated from the workload and we cannot even allocate time to study for exams as teachers like to plan all assessments at the end of the term/semester which leaves you 5-7 assessments to complete by the end of the week, limiting your time to study for exams. For example, transition week, which are 2 weeks at the end of the year to go to your year 11 subjects, was a direct example of how unorganised Hume Anglican Grammar is. We received our subjects on the morning of the transition, 10 minutes before we go to our new year 11 subjects, and in which was a very confusing table where most students had arrived late to their new subjects or in the wrong one. Fees - 1/5 As of 2020, we were in the process of remote learning. The global economy is plummeting due to the pandemic, which affects the wages of everyone in this crisis, including the parents and guardians of the children that are in Hume Anglican Grammar. Teachers teach worse while remote and students are tempted towards distractions and are more inaccessible to the resources provided by being on campus, however, we are still paying the same fees. It is absolutely ridiculous that Hume Anglican Grammar takes the same money from us as they would a normal year. I personally believe that the school should cut their fees in this pandemic and remote learning as most of our payment is towards being able to use school internet, go on excursions, and use the classrooms/buildings, which we cannot even do. Again, it's absolutely ridiculous. As of book prices - 2/5 The prices of the materials we pay for our education is fair, but what is not fair is that some books, especially in English and other subjects, we don't even use. I'm currently in year 10 and have been in this school for 3 years, and we have not used 1/3 of the books we purchase. This totals around $200-300 each year wasted. Uniform and Attire Policy - 3/5 The Uniform policy was terrible, however, within 2020 and 2021 I feel as though it has eased a bit with some changes within the regulations of the policy. Males are not required to tuck in during summer uniforms and females have a wider variety of the clothes they are allowed to wear during certain seasons. In conclusion, I would not recommend Hume Anglican Grammar.
This school prioritises looks over actual education, most of the teachers are fair and understanding but some aren't so good. Sometimes they throw you into things without even telling you what to do Sometimes they word things in tests weirdly so it makes it harder comprehend, one more thing is that we pay about $70 - $100 on a comfortable good jacket only to be told to take it off as soon as you enter class. I also feel that the school overprices things, I mean come on $300 Just for school things? Last year we bought a book THAT WE DIDN'T EVEN USE FOR THE ENTIRE SCHOOL YEAR, and some people don't even want to learn Italian but they have too Until year 9 that is. Overall this school is good in some areas but also not good in most. Also i'm being generous giving this a Two star instead of one
Hello. I am from a traditional family with strong Christian beliefs. I sent my child to this school to get a proper Christian education and was completely surprised when my child came back as a 'leftist, progressive and woke' individual!!! If only they focused on their school morals and education as much as they did with their unnecessarily strict uniform policies. They should be ashamed of themselves as a school when even Mount Ridley has better reviews.
