So far, a shockingly bad experience. I went to open an account, and the staff treated me as if they were doing me a huge favour. It was like a crime investigation interview, where I was the suspect. Feeling like a valued client? Forget about that, you entered our branch, therefore you're a suspicious psychopath. Normal people bank somewhere else! In addition, the teller seemed incapable to understand the most basic English sentence, unfortunately - completely misunderstanding what I said, and asking the most random questions (re my investments outside the scope of the account,for example). I might change my mind in the future. however so far it's one of the worst banking experiences I had.

Staff very friendly and helpful, always wiling to go the extra mile for me even though I only have one account. That kind of objectivity is rare to find in a bank, and I really appreciate it. I have to make deposits a few times a week and every time I am greeted with a smile. The banking process itself is simple and no hidden fees are around to bite you. The staff are bilingual which helps and is quite admirable, to be honest. I love banking with HSBC and visiting their branch is always a pleasure! I recommend this bank to anyone who wants simplicity in dealing with their money and no nonsense banking. They are the second largest bank in the world for a reason.

Had a particularly complicated USD payment to be made overseas. Staff were more than helpful. They took over the task and organised it for me, as well as setting up a facility for future transactions.
