Rooms were roomy, with great space for luggage and leaving stuff during our stay. There were well-located power points. The bathroom was also big, with a big bench. The shower space, however, was small. The location is good. The hotel is old, but it does the job well. Other than that, if you're in one of the front rooms, it could get noisy in the morning, but it is not too bad.
Best hotel in Launceston. Was on level 6 King bed room on north side. Room quiet and comfortable, bed was firm and supporting yet soft to sleep in. Pillows were wonderful and full. Complementary spring water was useful. Having a DESK with tabletop power points was so useful for business traveller.nnBreakfast buffet was delightful, with well done scrambled eggs option to ask for fried or poached, lean bacon, sausages and hash browns. Lots of choices of fruit, breads and pastry. What was unusual and lovely was porridge and stir-fried noodles & vegetables! The pancakes however were actually pikelets, so should be labelled correctly.nnStaff were very friendly and efficient.nnMy only gripe was the shower cubicle base was raised ABOVE the main floor, so water leaks everywhere.
The facilities of the hotel are moderate, and the location is quite good. If you rent a car, there is also a paid parking lot. It is quite convenient overall. However, if your accommodation is on a holiday, it is highly recommended to book a parking space in advance. On this trip, there was an activity in the hotel, but we didn't book a parking space in advance, we were asked to move the car to the free parking lot opposite the hotel, and then the car was smashed that night, the car back window was totally broken. That night, there was six cars were damaged on the free parking lot. As far as I know, most of them were the hotel guests. And we moved our car there just because the parking space was totally full and the staff asked we do. So make sure to book and have a parking space if you drive there.
This hotel has a fantastic location — very close to the city center and easy to get around. The staff were all friendly, and special thanks to Andy for helping with check-in and providing great service throughout my stay. Alos another staff who helped me during check out, I couldn't remember his name, only remember he just moved from Sydney. The hospitality from the staffs impressed me and level up my entire experience.nnAlthough the hotel shows a bit of history from the outside, the interior is clean and well-maintained. My room and bathroom had been renovated — the bathroom was bright, white, and spotless. Housekeeping came every day, which made the stay even more comfortable.nnOverall, I really enjoyed my experience here and would definitely consider staying again next time!
We chose this hotel primarily for its convenient location, and it certainly delivered on that front. It's close to everything we wanted to see.nnUnfortunately, the hotel itself is very dated. The age is evident as soon as you step inside. The hallways and our room felt old, with insufficient lighting that made everything quite dark. The carpet in the room was in particularly poor condition, with visible patches that were unappealing.nnWhile it served as a place to sleep, the overall worn-down atmosphere was disappointing. This hotel has potential, but it desperately needs a refurbishment to match its great location.
