Checked in for 3 days. All the amenities you could need. Breakfast was more than ample and dinner in the restaurant was lovely. Staff super friendly. Building/rooms could do with an upgrade. Was obviously very grand in her day and would be again with a little work.
Great bang for buck!nnWe have a deluxe king room for what I feel is an excellent rate compared to other cities around Australia. It is large, clean and the king-sized bed is easily one of the most comfortable hotel beds that I have experienced.nnThe hotel is close to everything in Launceston albeit Launceston is so small a city that everything is close to everything anyway.nnThe restaurant downstairs is a tad overpriced, but we did enjoy the meal, so I can't complain.nnYep, I'm definitely happy we picked this hotel.
Great value and more upscale than the price would suggest. The bathrooms were newly renovated in our rooms and everything worked well and very clean. The beds were very comfortable too. The staff were really friendly. Not a bad location and close to most things we wanted to see. We had a car so not sure what public transport is like.
Stayed at Grand Chancellor Launceston for 2 nights. Have stayed at Grand Chancellor Hobart a few times and loved it there. Booked the one in Launnie but was a little a bit underwhelmed.nHotel is a bit old. Our room needs an uplift. Carpets need to be replaced and bathroom needs renovation. Bathroom tap leaks unless turned off very tightly. Shower over narrow bathtub, water splashes all over floor despite shower curtain. No amenities apart from soap, shampoo, conditioner and moisturiser. No toothbrush/paste, comb and the usual. Do I have to call to ask for these? Not sure. The table lamp wasn’t working for some reason. $2.75 for bottled water? This should be free for guests.nPros: Beds and pillows are comfy. And it wasn’t too noisy during our stay. Room service was great. And reception was good.nnParking: plenty on premises. We were told $10 per day as guests but we were charged $48 upon exit?nnWould I stay here again? Probably not unless they renovate the place, there are no other options or the nightly rate is lower.
The facilities are great, but they do not accommodate food inferences or allergies. THERE IS NO MINI BAR, because they have decided to only to do room orders. The room service plater meal had only the option of crisp bread and when asked there was no substitutele. Gluten free crisps are a very easy substitute ans they last longer.ĺ
