Words don’t do justice the unparalleled level of food, drink and vibes I’ve experienced at The Hope & Anchor this morning. Greeted with a smile, I, a captain of nothing, ordered the Captain’s Breakfast. Every element of the plate was bursting with flavour. I did not know that a hash brown could be executed so perfectly. I could have had a plate of those hash browns and been in a state of nirvana for the remainder of the day. Maccas hash browns, eat your heart out. Coffee was also the best I’ve consumed in recent memory. Who knew milk could be texturized with such finesse? I entered The Hope & Anchor a mere mortal, I leave feeling like Captain of the world, ready for my next voyage. Thank you and see you happy people again very soon.nnFondest,nJames
A cute and cozy spot with charming Paddington neighborhood vibes. It gets quite busy on weekends, attracting a loyal crowd. While it’s a better spot for drinks than food, the overall experience is decent. Bonus points for being dog-friendly!
Love this local bar and the warm atmosphere, not only from the historic building but also from the staff and locals.nThe bar is always buzzing with a friendly mix of people and the booths upstairs in the old bakery are cosy and inviting. The street-side bench seats are always a coveted spot to watch the pooch parade on Given Tce and enjoy the sunset over the terraces of Paddington. The bar is decorated with interesting historical artefacts, photos and memorabilia - well worth a closer look! Don’t forget to see the upstairs attic which is perfect for a private dining experience.nOh and did I mention the open fire in winter and the live music in the courtyard??! This joint ticks all the boxes! Yes the food and drinks are AMAZING.
One of the best watering holes in Paddington. Lovely staff and great hustling vibes. They always have a great selection on tap and their food is solid too.
Impressive drink selection, food was delicious and the friendly staff were absolutely fantastic.nHighly recommended this awesome little gem.
