A beautiful secluded flat sandy beach.nEasy access not steep like some in Stradie for all to an enjoy.nHas plenty of parking.nAllure resort with bakery/coffee shop directly opposite over road.
Regretfully the worst camping experience of my life that could have been a much better if the camp management actually cared to help.nnWe chose this site to camp with friends that had already booked a powered site and after several attempts requesting a powered site in the months leading up to this trip & continually being told all Minjerribah camp sites are 'at capacity' we decided to purchase the essentials for off-grid camping a big expense at Christmas time. But our issues with our allocated site does not stop at it not being powered. The site itself was on a significant slope. So much to the point that my partner & I ended up with sore backs for a week after we stayed. This slope appeared to be man-made, potentially to block some of the road noise behind, so this made setting up & manoeuvring the trailer between the light post & the sand dune a disaster & securing pegs another issue.nnHowever, the most prominent issue was the light post in the centre of the site. When we complained on arrival we were told by the camp manager to 'use part of the neighbouring site'. At this point we asked again if we could move to a powered site as we had seen the unoccupied rate & were again denied.nnWe then spent a week walking past several unoccupied, flat grounded powered sites to be told by another camper that Minjerribah Camping have been operating at 48% capacity since COVID.nnThis was infuriating because with a different site we would have had a completely different camping experience!nnBy far the most expensive, yet most disappointing camping trip of my life.
Great spot to camp.up at . 80 mtr to the beach great tots and showers us a laundry . Straight across the road from Mexican restaurant and bowls club .
I don't think anyone would give this place five stars, as the facilities don't merit it. There are no grey water drains, no toilet dump point and the showers are limited to three minutes of hot water, operated via a switch. The toilets and showers are basic but functional, but not particularly clean.nOn the plus side, for the week that we were here in mid-February, we pretty much had the entire place to ourselves. There was one other group here, staying in one of the static vans. In addition, the beach right next to the campsite is magnificent.nDucks, plovers and curlews as well as hundreds of baby frogs frequent the site so nature lovers will be at home. Across the road is the Oasis restaurant which is very good. All in all, this is a quiet place for a break with immediate access to a wonderful beach but if you want a 5-star experience you will be disappointed.
We have been camping at Home Beach before and in fact many of our group have been coming here for a very long time. However, this time we could not get our usual sites for some strange reason in fact there was nobody actually on them . The management is not allowing people to book sites that are unoccupied. The rest of our friends were given sites totally unsuitable for caravans. The grass was very long and quite dangerous considering the snakes which were living in the area. The toilet block is old but usually clean. This time however it was not cleaned properly at all. Something strange is happening with the management and I feel tourists are being discouraged from staying at this caravan park. What is going on? We will never stay here again.
