This out-of-the-way, back-to- nature hideaway is inspirational.. About 10 minutes out of Hamilton, the new cabins under the pines are clean, cosy, delightful. The semi open showers are build around large pine trees, offering a view and an experience rarely afforded to most..( maybe chilly in winter..but worth it) There are sheep and chickens, a well appointed shared kitchen area and lounge. Very hospitable hosts, I would recommend staying here over a place in town for the uniqueness of it.

We called and asked for early check-in a few days before but when we got there, the rooms were not ready. One had a significant smell of cigarettes. A woman who arrived just before us was also having issues, she said "They've taken my money and there's no room for me." She was taken off to some half-built rooms by the owners and we never saw her again. There is a tiny creepy dog who watches everything you do. Incredibly basic facilities, but once we readjusted our expectations from "motel" to "backpackers" it was okayish. My husband was woken up by both sheep at 2am and roosters at dawn right outside our cabin. Blinds on windows let in a lot of light. Water has a gross rusty taste - I recommend bringing bottled water to drink or make tea with. Very clean with comfortable single beds, which is why I give it a two star rating.

Would be great in the summer showers are open which would be lovely not so good in winter

OK place, clean, bit out of the way. Be wary of room and facility descriptions... bathroom does not mean en suite!!! Access to some rooms is pretty precarious up seriously steep stairs! Get your info more accurate so guests know what they're getting... other than that it's a good deal.

Lovely secluded and quite space, great if you have a car otherwise it's a trek to the bus stop.
