Very unimpressive. My goats cheese and onion tart for $29 was dry and overcooked! I was choking it was that dry had to wash it down with a sip of water with every bite - wouldn't have even eaten it if I wasn't really hungry. It's not that hard to make a really good savoury tart!!! They offered us bread as if it was complimentary - so I said yes. It was horrible! Then I got the bill and saw they charged me $6 for that hard tiny piece of bread! I don't appreciate sneakiness like that. Nice view but not the right location to try and be that type of restaurant. If you're looking for a value for money meal this is not where you'll get one.
I have been to this restaurant twice on my occasional trips up to Perth, and am delighted to say how much both I and my partner have fallen in love with this perfect spot! Each visit has been remembered with delicious, flavourful food, the best front and back of house customer service, beautifully flowing wine and leaving with the biggest smile's. Even when busy and hectic with an impromptu function, we were still made to feel as though we were special and wanted guests, with our waitress taking her time to discuss at length the menu and how it would suit our varying allergies. At the end of our night, we even bought the chef a drink as thanks for the amazing food and perfect evening! It is truly a delight to dine here and we know that we will return on a regular basis.
Cuisine food at affordable prices. The plates were appetizing to the eyes and taste buds. It was a food experience I will never forget. Halo is definitely at the top of my restaurant re visit list. THANK you and hats off to the chef. I am still salivating at the thought of lastnights meal and cocktails.
Great service. Mains looked like entrees albeit very good, and these guys need to understand you can buy a quality wine for $10 a bottle. Restaurant prices should be from $25.
Terrible! The wait staff were not bad at all but the manager who was a female was rude. Initially said we my mom, dad, husband, 3 yr old and 1 yr old could not sit outside due to insufficient space for the stroller. We saw some space and asked to move outside near empty and she was rude. To top it off, no vegetarian options and no corona. Wait staff were empathetic but that manager was pathetic for lack of a better word!
I went for dinner here on the 4th of January and I wish I could turn back time because it was a waste of time, money and my last night with my partner. We had dinner booked for 6:30 but we arrived half an hour late. We tried to call the restaurant a few times to tell them we would be late but no one picked up the phone in our numerous attempts. When we got to the restaurant, it was almost empty which should have been an indicator of what was going to happen. The mains had four choices because they didn't have some food on the menu. The entree menu was missing one item too. The entree ordered was okay but nothing to rave about. The main meals were an absolute disaster. We ordered a side of broccoli which arrived soggy mushy and unappealing wet. I could not believe that it came out of a fine dining restaurant. It would not come out of my kitchen. My partner ordered tossed seafood special which was meant to be pan fried and it showed up battered. A pretty effective way to kill good seafood. Mine was a burramandi. It wasn't horrible. It was average. When we complained at the payment counter we where told the main chef had left to look after some other issue and the food had been cooked by the assistant chef. The chef that doesn't cook the complex meals, or maybe even none of the meals if I am to judge by the broccoli disaster. Suffice it to say, I was completely floored by this. The Chef Left. He Left. ....We should have been told this BEFORE we ordered. We paid premium price for subpar food. The only good thing about this place was the wine and the view and since the restaurant didn't produce any of this they get 1 star. I would give zero if it was available. Don't go here. If you want the lovely view, walk on the pier or have a wine or beer at the bar next door.
Limited menu not enough fish options only had barramundi and Cod, good wine list nice cosy atmosphere. Over priced for the options available. didn't stay for dessert. Had the prawns for entree $19 for 4 prawns delicious well cooked but overpriced.
Thanks you to the staff etc at "Halo", my cousin over from Melbourne and had dinner tonight, Thursday and loved everything about it. We had the Entree Gnocchi and it was beyond delicious. I would recommend to everyone especially those visiting us from other parts of Aussie!! Sue Kelly.
Went for lunch yesterday. Great welcome on arrival, excellent service and the food was delicious. Menu could be expanded though. Very good time over all. Brett and Chay.
High quality food but for a price. Service has been very good most times.
