Visit for wine and share plates! You can also purchase bottles, a great selection and high-quality wine glasses. Food is served from Petition restaurant next door. Pate is a must! But unfortunately, staff needs knowledge and be trained.
The Wine Merchant never disappoints!! From the food that's made with great quality produce, combination of flavours and freshly shucked oysters is always a big plus for any oyster lover. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable of their products behind the bar. The wine selection is outstanding and they always have new additions regularly.
We have been assisted from Pam, I believe the best service you can have around the area, very professional and appassionate about his job. Good selection of wine and good food

If you looking for Quiet bar here is the one. A lot of different wine was really nice.
It's mostly great quality here. And you pay for it. Top selection of interesting wines with staff who know what they are talking about. Food from Petition is excellent quality, though maybe a little small on serving sizes for value. The crème brulée was just average, lacking sufficient vanilla flavour, with a barely-there disappointing crust. If quality matters more than price, go.
To the wine bar we frequent the most, where do I start! From the impeccable service, to knowledgeable hostess and sommeliers the Wine Merchant formerly Petition Wine is something for everyone. Perfect for after work drinks, a mid-week catch up or a cosy date night. The Wine Merchant has been the backdrop for every occasion! The wine selection is always changing and there’s always something new and exciting to try. If you are in the city for less than 48 hours, this place should definitely be on your food/drink list!
An exceptional wine experience with great wine, great and knowledgeable staff and great vibe!
Great spot for a cozy drop or simply takeaway if you prefer. Fantastic selection of wines in a number of price brackets.
The carefully curated wine selection reflects the deep knowledge of the staff here. The small but interesting menu also has some delicious options. This place is elegant without being overly formal. I very much enjoy it!
