Travelling Aussies nnStopped for lunch at this fantastic venue and so glad we did nnOrdered from their lunch specials menu - 250g rump steak, calamari, chicken schnitzel sandwich and a curry. All were served perfectly nnPresentation, freshness, flavour were all 10/10 for each mealnnService is friendly and the pub is very well fitted outnnHeaps of on-street parking, sea breeze and view of the waternnHighly recommended to fellow travellers looking for great food in a convenient location
Don't know what happened to the chef today but the food was disgusting!!nWent with the family and we are all feeling sick in our stomachs.nnOrdered two The Grand View Hotel Smoked Meat Platter. I swear the sausage was so hard I hardly could break it. The meat was old and the salads were sour.nMy grandma ordered the calamari, so oily it was dripping oil! Yuck nFood use to be so good here, have no idea what has happened.nnWe told the waiters and never heard again.n$109 down the dump for really horrible food.nSad ........
We enjoyed lunch, patrons walking past even mentioned how good our lunch looked and also ordered nachos themselves.nStaff were polite, and the view was beautiful. The grounds are well kept, and many different spots to sit and relax
Chicken Snitty was damn nice. Large piece was cooked to perfection. The vegies and mash were excellent too. Topped off with a nice gravy.nnTheme was cozy and warm, no piercing lights buring ya eyes as you try to relax and enjoy a meal.nnLady that served us was friendly and welcoming. Brought our food over fairly quickly. Definitely revist again. Price was fair.
I've been dining at the Grand View Hotel for a month now, and I have to say, their food is absolutely amazing. The portions are a bit smaller compared to the motels in the Bowen region, but the quality more than makes up for it.nnHowever, I had a bit of an odd experience the other night when I ordered two cans of coke at the bar. The bartender opened both cans without asking me first, citing it as the rule. I asked him if he would open all six cans if I had bought that many, and he said yes. I was a bit frustrated at the time and walked off with my open cans.nnI couldn't help but wonder - if I had bought water instead, would he have opened those too? Or if a nearby diner ran out of coke and had to buy a case from them, would all 30 cans be opened? It just seemed a bit strange to me.nnOverall, the Grand View Hotel has great food, but I hope they reconsider their policy on opening canned beverages without asking first. It's the little things that can make a big difference in the customer experience.
