"Bowen Fishermans Seafood Company is a small family owned and operated seafood wholesale & retail business, who specialises in providing fresh local wild caught seafood & have been supplying Australia wide and exporting seafood internationally for over 35 years. Allen & Cecily Bauer took over the Queensland Fish board establishing Bowen Fishermans Seafood Company in 1982. The Bauer Family then opened Bird's Fish Bar in 2013 offering to the public cooked to order, wild caught fish & chips unloaded from the local boats daily. You can takeaway or eat in at their outdoor eating area providing undercover seating to enjoy your fresh fish & chips while overlooking Bowens beautiful marina & watching the boat unload last nights catch."

We wanted the fresh barramundi but it was finished so we ordered, a grilled fish & bug tail + 2 salads on the cashier’s advice as we didn’t wanted the chips; they ended up getting us only the fish & chips + the salads and as we asked about the bug and said we didn’t needed the chips; they said they couldn’t take them back or refund because the fish was prepped as we had asked aka grilled.nnThey were really rude with us ; made us wait so we ended up having to eat the food we didn’t wanted cold.nnA part from that the atmosphere is really nice
My mouth is watering thinking about the yummy mackeral we had here. Chips were done to perfection as well. We sat out the back overlooking the marina and seagulls. We came back the next day for their $20 kilo mixed local prawns. Mmmm! This is a must when visiting Bowen.
Amazing atmosphere here, lovely view and plenty of shade! Comfy chairs and heaps of tables to sit at. The customer service was amazing, both at register and receiving the food. The food was good! Fresh burgers and chips, and they are not conservative on gravy! I loved it!!! Thank you!
Best fish and chips we’ve had so far during our time in Australia! Super fresh, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. Birds Fish Bar really knows how it’s done. We’ll definitely be back if we’re ever in the area again!
Absolutely loved Birds Fish Bar in Bowen! The location is perfect, right on the waterfront with beautiful views of the marina – a great spot, especially around sunset. The fish was incredibly fresh and delicious, likely thanks to it being locally caught, and you can really taste the difference. Portion sizes were generous, and the food came out quickly. The staff were very friendly and made the experience even better. I’d highly recommend Birds Fish Bar to anyone visiting Bowen – it’s a must-try for great seafood and a laid-back, scenic atmosphere!
