Had the buffalo chicken burger and the large boneless chicken bites. The buffalo chicken burger tasted decent. Nice flavours in general and chicken was moist. The boneless chicken bites had a mushy texture. I do like fried chicken but the taste and texture of this batch was not right I’m hoping it was just the flavour I chose Korean fire glaze. Also, the chicken took over an hour to arrive. Score would have been a three, however as the staff were super nice and acknowledged the delay…. plus it was during lunch service I’ll cut some slack. Therefore, I have bumped my score to four.
The venue itself is a really nice venue. If you're coming for a few drinks with the boys or gals this place is good for it. The staff were all nice and welcoming. When it came to food it was all nice except for my steak. I ordered the black Angus rump medium and it came out well-done. I told one of the staff and he got the chef to cook me another steak this time really medium. But it came out even more charred and well-done than the previous steak. Told the staff member and he refunded me which was nice. So my conclusion is it's a nice place for drinks but dont get the steaks, the chef doesn't know how to cook steaks.
Excellent selection of beers, great location, friendly staff and good food… what more could you want… highly recommended for a casual drink/meal at King Street wharf without the price tag…. Just watch the seagulls!
Service was great, we were seated quickly with our reservation and enjoyed the convenience of being able to order electronically from our table at anytime that suited us. Food and drink delivery was surprisingly prompt especially considering it was a busy Saturday night. Food was delicious and I look forward to visiting again soon. The atmosphere and vibe of the place is also great due to seating and not feeling claustrophobic amongst others
Well I'm a little disappointed with this iconic place. Bought tickets online then waited an hour in line to get tickets. In all honesty they were very understaffed. I did however like that the staff were very helpful and polite. I do like that you can just go in for a walk around, but if you wanted to get food or drinks you need to get food voucher. It can become very pricey. But I think Luna Park is one of those places you go every 5 years or so.
Ordered the rib eye with chips and salad, along with 4 Pines pint. The rib eye was not worth $50 or ordering at all. I ordered medium with mushroom sauce. The steak was small around 250g, and was cooked to well done, grey and dry. It felt like it had been cooked before and reheated. Mushroom sauce was not worth ordering either. Disappointing experience even for pub standards. Things I liked were lots of TV's with sport on, the affordable beer, chips and salad were ok.
Food wait was way too long even I saw people who are way earlier than us get their food at the same time as ours which also taken them another 30 mins for us. It would have been at least a decent experience if the food was good. We order only this yummy looking nachos but don't be fooled, it's way too salty to eat without sipping water every two bites. Our tables were never cleaned although we have requested the staff to help us clean. Funny enough, they cleaned the table next to us instead. Staff were never check on us or no host was present when we walked in the bar. Really understand the understaffed situation, but at least it would be nice to have someone update us once about our order. I really don't know what to make with this experience, we came expecting great service and food but left utterly disappointed.
We had the daily special for Wednesday, the MVP Parma with chips and salad and a pint of 4 Pines IPA. The portion was just right and it was cooked perfectly. But, most of all, the price was exceptional!!
Just finished eating and thought id better get on here. Monday night 1/2 price ribs and selected pints. Can i just say the atmosphere is amazing with the sports. The food is incredible. I got the full rack of pork ribs with hickory bbq sauce and my partner got the buffalo schnitzel. A little spicy on the buffalo but nothing a beer couldnt fix. Chef Jack is incredible and manager zac showed the best service letting us know the kitchen is closing and if we wanted dessert got the trifecta which we wouldnt have gotten if he didnt recommend. Fresh desserts made in house. *chefs kiss*
Went on a Wednesday when they had $8.90 pints, $5 spirits and schnitzel specials. We had VIP Parma and some wings as well as a few different Keller door pints. Everything was great.
