Dear hospital,nnPlease find someone who WANT to work properly, professionally. Not someone who just sit down and do nothing, Not even explain. I went to ask for some information nicely. She looks at me like I asked for money. Honestly I will be happy to wait if someone explain or make it clear or communicate with the patient. I come here because of I got injured not come to play around! I never got this awful experience in my life before.nnRegards
For the first time in 8 years of living on the Goldcoast and going to the same children emergency today my son who has ASD sat in pain due to pressure build up in his ear referred by gpnFor urgent attention as he suspected a perforated ear drum the nurses did not even check his vitals even when I requested 2-3 times for someone to atleast give him some PanadolnIt has never happened before that the nurses wud not check vitals or not provide Panadol or ibuprofennWhile sitting there every child sitting around us was provided for nurses came outside and took vitals for them who even just walked in but for some reason my son’s name was never called untilnFor the 4 th time I stood up and questioned again refused to sit back down and kept requesting to see the supervisornI have always seen people raise their voice at the nurses there and have negated them for doing itnFor the first time today I raised my voice at the same nurse to whom I very respectfully had been requesting for Panadol I felt helpless as my child was neglected for 4 hours straight.nI get it it’s a long wait to see the doctors but I have never come across 3-4 hour long wait for checking vitals and providing pain relief.nSuch unprofessional approach by the nurse I feel ashamed that our kids are put through this misery.
Waited 5 hours to see a psychaitrist. Was told after 5 hours there has 'been a mistake' and I will not see one. Sent me on spiral had to see an after hours doctor that made things worse. This is a very new hospital and yet the emergency waiting room has uncomfrotable chairs and is rather small. How come the options are either on the floor or on a chair when you might be so dizzy or sick you can't handle either, OR a bed inside the ward? what about a recliner for people who can't sit properly? what about a person puking his head off and needing help being helped by someone!? no one from inside the nurse station came to help him for minutes, just looked at him sometimes like it doesn't really bother them.
The staff and carers are fantastic and I absolutely appreciate their dedication and efforts, it's just a few rotten apples that create a negative experience. Those that saved my life deserve the highest praise and the highest rating which sadly can't be said for those toxic.
