I was referred here by my GP for an ADHD assessment, I saw Dr Al Humrany and it was only after a 30-40 minute session of talking did he inform me that he was not able to diagnose me officially with ADD and I was sent on my way. They were very happy to charge me $400 however. This was then followed up by a 10 minute phone call a week later which I was charged $80 for. If you care for your mental health find someone else to talk to.
Do not see Dr Al Humrany. If you get him, run.. extremely inconsiderate, and his solution for my anxiety was by simply "stop overthinking, stop stressing" well if i could I wouldn't be here smart dr. Stressed me out and i had panic attacks multiple times in his office instead of being a comfortable safe space for me
Terrible, terrible clinic. If you go here out of desperation trust your gut in your dealings with the place. Prepare yourself mentally to endure an endless comedy of errors and stay on the front foot with it all. Better to just stay away.
I don't know how to get in contact with the doctor to tell her l will not be going back. I just can't afford her. I'm paying $50.00 for a 20 minute phone call. This is outrageous. I'm trying to find another doctor. I don't appreciate the reception staff ringing me to tell me what l owe. Disgusting. On Monday my phone call was literally 10 minutes and l still owe $35.00 for what. Never mind how lm feeling my anxiety is back with a vengeance how about we discuss this. Oh l still can't get this out of my head lm an addict. So much for making me feel better.
I had presented a referral from my GP in February, and was told there was a 6 - 8 week waiting list, which was understandable. Only found out from my GP yesterday that my referral was "rejected", no reason given, over two weeks ago! Incredibly unprofessional of them to not even give me the common courtesy of contacting me and saying "Doctor isn't interested". I could have used those two weeks to keep looking for a practitioner who is actually in the business of helping patients, not just as a source of faceless income.
It's been 4 years since my horrible experience seeing Dr Das and i am still traumatised. I was supposed to see another doctor at the clinic for an ADHD assessment but they booked me in with him instead. I was originally told it would be bulk billed but when I arrived they said Dr Das had a gap free around $120. I was worried as i wasnt working at the time and didnt have any money but luckily my support person covered the cost. He started the ADHD assessment but quickly got the BPD checklist out and started going through that probably because i was a young lesbian. He was very harsh, scary, rude and belittling. I answered no to the majority of his questions and my friend tried to provide examples and further information. They kept asking him about the ADHD assessment. He got really angry and made them move their chair further away and shushed them whenever they tried to speak. He didnt believe my answer to a question about relationship history and asked if I 'slept around' as he was sure I did. Eventually he angrily said 'there must be something! Does your family have a history of drinking?' I said my mother drinks a glass of wine most nights and he said 'thats it!' He diagnosed me with BPD which I and my support person a psych student at the time now a doctor did not agree with at all, especially given most of the questions didn't related to me. Dr Das told me to stop taking my SSRI medication straight away even though I would experience withdrawal symptoms so he could prescribe BPD meds. He told me i had to come back for weekly for treatment which I couldn't afford. He said I probably had ADHD but there was no time left so he would need to finish it next week. I left so upset and cancelled the appointment the next day. I can't imagine what would have happened if my support person wasn't there to witness his conduct and reassure me that I didn't have to follow his advice or see him again. It took me a year to finally see a different psychiatrist as i was so scared it would be a similar experience. Luckily she was lovely and diagnosed me with ADHD and said his diagnosis was incorrect. Please be careful seeing him, I would hate for anyone else to be treated this way. If you are queer, trans or gnc go somewhere else! He will diagnosis you with BPD!
Prof. Lubman AM is just great, can't sing his praises enough for what he has done for me. But the reception staff are so INCREDIBLY rude. Enough said.
Booked my appointment with Dr. Partha Das Psychiatrist in April 2021 for September 2021. Received a call today end of August asking me if I am ok with a telehealth appointment tomorrow. I declined and said I only want face to face appointment. I was told that only telehealth is available and my original appointment would also be telehealth! I was dumbstrcuk and said that I had booked for a face to face appointment and have been confirmed via text message. There had been no other communication. I was told that the doctor is doing telehealth only for 18 months and they confirmed my F2F appt because they thought by September doctor would be open to F2F. I asked why I was not informed when this decision was made. I was told that there are too many patients so they do not make such efforts. I was then rushed to decide if I still wanted to keep my original appointment which also has to be telehealth. Rushed! The person on the other end would not even speak properly and not ready to hear anything I say. They wasted 4 months of my time and then they behave like this over phone. And they market themselves for providing mental health care. I got the call today only because there was a cancellation and an earlier appointment became available. Otherwise, they would not have informed me of anything and I would have travelled to their clinic for my appointment and would have returned home frustrated. I am trying hard not to lose hope in the system. But that has taken a big hit after the conduct I received from these guys.
Review of Psychiatrist Dr Partha Das: I continue to see Dr Partha Das. I've been seeing him for about 8 months now. He was thorough in assessing and diagnosing my mental health issues. Dr Partha is very honest and was brave enough to call me out on my BS in a gentle and caring manner. I was seriously unwell, depressed and desperate when I met Dr Partha. He seemed to know which medications would work for me like he had a 6th sense.... Or maybe it was the decades of studying. Once he got my medication right, I was able to change my attitude and stop allowing myself to be a victim. He never made me feel uncomfortable or ashamed. This guy seriously knows his s**t when it comes to helping those with severe mental illness and chemical imbalances. I think he's extremely experienced, well educated and so up to date with new studies/findings in the forever developing medical world. I also think he has that special something that you can't teach. He never pushed any medication on me and prioritised therapeutic interventions. He continues to empower me with the skills I need to stay well, function in society and understand my mental illness.
Avoid Dr. Raid Al Humrany. Self-satisfied, smug and condescending. Totally reductive, unable to listen or empathise. Waste of time that did more harm than good.
