I accompanied my daughter to visit the JP inside the library because she had been made nervous by this particular JP during a previous visit. I was absolutely shocked by his behaviour. I witnessed him loudly asking a woman’s partner, “Does she speak English?” simply because the woman was wearing a scarf. This was said in a humiliating manner for everyone to hear. The woman then quietly put her head down and replied, “Yes sir, I do.”nnDuring our own interaction, he was rude, abrupt, and unnecessarily loud. Given that this service operates inside a library, his volume alone was completely inappropriate. There was no consideration for privacy — personal matters such as the contents of people’s wills and the reasons for their visits were spoken about openly for others to hear.nnThis behaviour shows a lack of professionalism, respect, and cultural sensitivity. Volunteering in this role does not grant someone authority to belittle or embarrass others. This experience was deeply uncomfortable and disappointing, and it should not be acceptable in a public service setting.nnThe 2 stars represents the Library
Compared to other libraries, this one is quite busy with a lot of people. Parents and students borrowing books, especially in subjects like math and science, might face competition since they are often already checked out. There are a lot of people coming here for tutoring, especially during school holidays. Despite being a busy library, the service is still great.
Good Library and staff. JP was very rude. Couldn’t wait for me to even write my name on my paper, said to get to the back of the line. Unhappy. She doesn’t deserve to be a JP.
We utilised the function meeting room today - excellent & affordable!!
Great library hidden in the busy Westfield Garden City.nnPerfect spot to relax reading newspapers, latest magazines and of course books.nnThe whole process of becoming a member is so easy, borrowing books and returning is also so easy.nnGreat to subscribe to their emails to see upcoming events, activities and events for all ages.
