Stopped by Frank’s Cakes on our way back from the Dandenong Mountains and couldn’t have been happier! The place has a real family vibe and the staff are super friendly, making you feel instantly welcome. The atmosphere is lively and bustling, yet still comfortable enough to relax and enjoy a proper brunch.nnThe food is fantastic. Think Italian-Australian “soul food” done really well. Every dish we tried was full of flavor and clearly made with care. It’s exactly the kind of hearty, satisfying brunch spot you hope to find when out exploring. Coffee wise, it was a little weaker than I prefer, but still pleasant and paired nicely with the food.nnThe decor and bathrooms are clean, but could do with a refresh to brighten things up and give the space a more modern feel. That said, the overall experience more than makes up for it. One of the best things about Frank’s Cakes is how genuinely family and dog friendly it is, which makes it perfect for a casual outing with everyone in tow.nnOverall, Frank’s Cakes is a fantastic spot for a tasty, hearty brunch with friendly energy and a welcoming atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in the area, it’s a true hidden gem!
Have driven past this place many times but today i had a catch up with a friend. I ordered the Arancini and it was absolutely delicious. Beautifully presented & again very delicious. I also had a small latte which is probably one of the nicest lattes I've had. Will definitely be back. The staff are all amazing as well.
The food is delicious but leans toward the savory side for my taste. The scrambled eggs are light, fluffy, and well-seasoned.nnThere are both indoor and outdoor seating options. However, the indoor area seems to have poor acoustics, causing sound to reverberate. It might get a bit noisy for conversations if you’re sitting inside.nnThe café offers a great selection of cakes, highly recommended by both the staff and many reviewers. However, since the portions were quite filling, we had to postpone trying the desserts for another visit.
