Story

Flame. A secret South African BBQ recipe wrapped around amazing ribs and steaks. We’re a restaurant of course but we pride ourselves on the welcoming and enthusiastic service we bring to every table. Entertainment from start to finish. The views are stunning, the team are hand-picked for their passion and our warm welcome is just the beginning of what we hope will be a long and happy friendship.

Within walking distance of all major hotels and just metres away from Queenstown bay, you will smell the alluring aroma of Flame food before you even find us. Follow your nose and you will find us tucked away upstairs and embark on an eating adventure you are sure to enjoy.

Can't recommend Flame Bar & Grill enough.nnThey were really great to book in our party of 7 via email as we came from over seasnnFood was incredible. Many of group noted it was the best steak they had ever had, if not top 3.nnI can easily say best espresso martini I have ever had, and I'll be back for another during this trip.nnThere is a pram & wheelchair friendly accessible entrance around the back. You just have to take the lift up and make your way back around to the restaurant.nnThe staff were next level attentive and helpful and made room for our pram.nnThere is also a baby change table in the bathrooms, which is a big bonus.
We almost walked in through the service entrance but were gently redirected to the correct door by an actual service member. Without a booking, there was only bar seating available but we were pleased to be seated immediately. They have a ton of non-alcoholic and gluten free options! We enjoyed the salt and pepper squid, salmon and chicken sandwich. Definitely would have liked a seat looking out the window so be sure to get a reservation!
The food was amazing, big portions. We ordered black tiger prawns, ribs and green lip mussels. The sauce in the prawn dish was really special. The mussels were fresh and big amount as appetizer. My toddler loved the ribs, it was soft and juicy. Enjoyed the atmosphere there, gentleman at the front was sweet. Overall a good experience.

I stayed for dessert which was also very nice.nPlenty of options from the drinks menu.nnIf you're in Queenstown this is a must for dining!
Ordered the green lipped mussels, calamari, and beet salad. The mussels were massive and tasted very fresh. The cream sauce was so really filling and flavorful. They served with 4 huge pieces of toast which was a nice touch. The calamari were massive pieces but lacked some spices so this would be skip next time. Beet salad was so refreshing and light. The whipped feta on the salad with the beets were delicious together. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good helping of tasty food.
