Beautiful spot, very nice walking track from little oneroa up to fisherman’s rock. Beautiful scenery good amount of stairs to climb. Track is mostly sheltered from the elements. Highly recommended
A wonderful walk for a sunny day, its a lot of steps though so take plenty of water. There are several benches along the walk to the start od this track but when you get on this track its pretty much steps and pathway. Lovely when you get down there though, lots of rock pools to look in with many snails and barnacles to look at. Love it. Also there is no access along from the beach so when you go down all those steps you do have to come back up.
Went for fishing in this area for the first time and had a blast. Was not able to catch legal size ones but was still a worth it walk. The scenery was lovely as well. The walking track might be a challenge but worth it.
As the name suggests it’s a good fishing spot for Snapper and even Kingfish. But it’s also a great hidden area for swimming rock jumping and snorkeling during mid to high tide. To access the site park at the end of Newton rd and follow the path to the coast. There are a lot of stairs and it’s worth bringing study sole shoes to climb the rocks to get to the swimming area. It’s also a good idea to bring water shoes to get in and out of the water to avoid the oysters. This is not a beach so don’t expect a sandy area, it’s rugged with lots of rocks and tidal channels. Also to correct something previously stated in another review, the track is not muddy in the summer even after a good downpour.
my hubby decided to check this place as it is at the edge of the beach, turns out the pathway going in was muddy until we reached a clear stairway going down to the rocky area.. my son was fine with long walks then he was disappointed when we reached as there’s no way he can play in the water he loves beach..so in the end we left and as we walked back, my son slipped and cried as the footpath is muddy.. I will not recommend this place with kids.
Definetely a must-to-go place.. is an easy walking trail a couple of steps, and you'll get amazing views.. at the end you just have to walk through some rocks and you will enjoy the views
A nice walk from town on a beautiful coastal walk.
Lovely walk from Little O beach, climbing lots of stairs good shoes needed and water bottle! but the views are worth it. Fisherman's rock is just that - a bunch of rocks bit if you're lucky you can see penguins and lots of other birds. Lots of rock pools to explore. About an hour return from Little O at a leisurely pace, but you can do it faster. We did it with a group of 18 kids from age 8 upwards on a dry day. They loved it - just tell them not to run as the path has a lot of loose stone.
Keep walking around to the east to find some sweet cliff-jumps but make sure you go at high tide so that the water is deep enough. The Blowhole is about a 20m drop.
seems a good place to fishing
