Decided to buy food here out of all the stalls in the fish market and I think it's pretty good. The squid skewer was nice, as the squid was perfectly cooked. The barramundi fillet was nice too, and their marinated oysters are great. I do wish the food was a bit hotter though, as it would've made it even better. The lobster mornay to me was just fine, it didn't stand out as much as you'd think
Do not bother! Super size SMALL portions for double the price! Taste = below average! The box is the same size as my hand. That box had about 15 calamari in it for $18 bucks! Go elsewhere! Better tasting food and worth your money!
They have some nice seafood however they don't remove the gills from the soft shell crab, the oysters were delicious. Mixed seafood platter was good.
Went to Sydney Fish Market on Friday and ordered Flat Head Fish & Chips from Fish Market Cafe. It was very good - crispy batter and chips! My previous experience going on a weekend was bad - no seating and food quality was mediocre. Lesson - go on a weekday, arrive by 11am and enjoy your seafood in a comfortable manner.Recommended dishes
Food was nice. The rice doughnut is a good idea, had salmon and avocado in the middle. The sushi taco wasn't that good. Parking: Large car park Wheelchair accessibility: Has ramp access
AUD118 for the Grilled Lobster Seafood Platter & AUD29 for the Oysters. Only gripe about the platter was that the squid is really rubbery tasteless and that the chips was way too overwhelming. Other seafood aspects was really good tho! Oysters were pretty mediocre so it’s recommended to buy from other stores.
This place was my second choice as the Yumcha place closed down. Taco sushi certainly caught my eyes!!! They looked so pretty and yummy. Taco sushi presented so well. Options to choose from eel, scallop baked salmon, raw salmon toppers. Unfortunately the sushi rice was so overly cooked and the rice clumped together like solid ricecake. The freshness of the ingredients and the quality of cooked rice are essential for making tasty sushi. Very disappointing.
Food wasn’t good. Not really fresh and expensive. Quite disappointed. I always thought that australia serves high quality food. Hence, not recommended for this shop. Suggest customers to look google review before deciding which stalls to order :
People were lining up all the way out the back so I had to check it out. Ordered 6 of the aburi scallops $4 each only to find a thin piece of scallop on top and then filled with loads of cheese and rice. Not worth it imo, just get fresh scallop and cook them yourself or eat raw. Also had the sushi taco from the sushi bar, it looked interesting but also expensive at $8 each. Not much sashimi topping, just a lot of rice and not so crunchy taco. Again I'd rather just go across from there and order from the sushi bar in the place next door $2.50 nigiri each. Or best would be to bring your own rice and soy sauce and order sashimi from any of the fish stores and make nigiri yourself.
I had grilled barramundi with chips and later the same with salmon and it was really fresh and delicious. The personnel was okay some were nice, others didn't really care but it was really crowded and loud and the food did take a while to prepare which wouldn't be that bad, if there would be more waiting space. Still a good place to get food! ^^
