Please take my 1 star and subtract 1 star!! Sadly you can't give zero stars! Without doubt the shittiest restaurant I have ever been to!! Any restaurant that displays not 1, but 2 cans of cockroach spray should have their license revoked. I'm thinking... It can't get worse than seeing that, but alas, when every dish we ordered came with spam the real Sliced Ham we had to stand corrected. We did do a good deed for the restaurant, errr sorry I mean another patron, by telling them to run for the hills! DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT!! unless of course you want to risk it all. Now I'll go back to worrying about the green apple splatters I hope I don't experience! Oh by the way... Anyone that gives this restaurant more than 1 star must be an employee or a family member!
Misfortune had me there on a public holiday as it was one of the few restaurants open that seemed to offer a quick lunch menu. Staff was rude and did not bother to even show me to a table, rather just point me in a direction as though I was an annoyance. Sat at said table for around 20 minutes and the staff did not even care to make a single round to check for an order. This was a near empty restaurant with only three of their dozen or so tables sitting with one or two eating patrons. Disgraceful. It's as though no one in the waiting staff even wants to take a remote bit of responsibility.
Worst food I ever had. Fried rice was like podridge WET! salt and pepper pork - battered badly and fried in old oil - prawn crackers smelt of old oil. I will never eat or order from this place ever again. Worst experience I have ever had. Me being Asian this is embrassing restaurant to represent asian cuisine. disgusting and a rip off. The chef clearly does not care on the way they cook. I will also report this restaurant to the health inspector.
I ordered delivery through Menu Log, food came from Ni Hao but..... the order was all wrong. I rang Ni Hao directly to complain, they said bring the food back and we'll give you the correct order. I said no to this and said I expected it to be delivered but they refused. I then contacted my bank and tried to stop the payment. The response I got from the bank was that when I ordered through Menu Log I entered a contract virtually leaving myself with no rights whatsoever. Done my money cold and to add insult to injury, the food they did deliver was only just eatable.
My girlfriend and I recently went to Ni Hao using a voucher. We got an 11 course meal, giving us a good sampling of the menu. On first impression the decor is pleasant and quaint. Small and cozy feeling and great for a date night. We were greeted warmly and quickly seated. After handing over the voucher and mentioning to the waitress about one of us having a peanut allergy and double checking about no peanuts, since the waitress was unsure, the food started to arrive. We had an array of food before us shortly. Sweet and Sour Pork, a small cucumber salad, fried tofu cubes with mustard sauce, spring rolls, prawn flowers and San Chow Bow all were tasty and went down quickly. Overall the first round of food came relatively quickly, service was attentive, and most importantly, we were enjoying the food. Unfortunately that ended with a Peking Duck pancakes. Lovely, soft and thin pancakes, with a nice little bit of duck, cucumber and spring onion. Light and fresh, I devoured mine quickly. My girlfriend took one bite and knew something was wrong. Her lips got puffy and her throat scratchy and tightening up. She was having an allergic reaction. Thankfully her allergy to peanuts isn't deadly, but it is still alarming to see your girlfriend having trouble breathing while waiting for an anti-histamine to work. We quickly got the waitress' attention and asked what was in the pancakes. We asked about the sauce. She wasn't sure, she went to check. Traditionally Hoisin sauce peanut free, we had a suspicion now it was replaced with something like Satay peanut laden. Sure enough, the waitress came back...they had used satay sauce. Oops. We didn't make a huge deal at the restaurant. We did point out that we had specifically asked about peanuts and the allergy. The waitress offered a quick apology and went back to normal. But this isn't something that should happen at a decent restaurant. Not when you specifically point out an allergy. And double check with the waitress. In this case, my girlfriend only gets mild reactions to peanuts. If it was someone else, who has more severe reactions? Satay sauce can be horrible for them. Inexcusable really. The food was pretty good up until then and why I'm not giving it a 1 star vote, the place was pleasant and the staff weren't rude or anything, but we won't be back and I'd have trouble recommending this place given what happened, not when there are so many other options for Chinese here in Sydney/Pyrmont.
casual dining authentic Chinese food. ordered many times and never been disappointed. The salted fish fried rice is awesome!
Ni Hao is a Cantonese Chinese Restaurant which we'd like to go on a casual dinning occasion. The Japanese Style Wasabi beef is our favourite dish as well as fish sauce eggplant. The seating is reasonable comfortable and staffs are helpful.
Love love love this place and has become our go to delivery option for when we don't feel like cooking. The food is always fresh and delivered really quickly. Try the beef and blackbean, it's amazing.
Ordered the Nasi Goreng and have had food poisoning for 3 days. Bathrooms are an absolute disgrace which should have hinted at their hygiene standards. Stay away!
Just got my takeaway and I got home to find they didn't give me Lemon sauce for my lemon chicken... Rang them as all they could say was come back and get it... I was adjust home and the rest of my food would be stone cold by the time I got it.. they do delivery and should have offered to deliver for free... Won't be going back to a previously favourite restaurant
