Highly recommended. Ferry from Central Coast to palm beach, zero traffic and at least 30 minutes faster each way. Ride takes about 30 minutes. Relax and take in the views. If only a frequent user fares are paid for on the ferry, staff will come around when seated. Staff were friendly and polite. The water can become a little choppy but the ferry's ride is pretty good through it. We saw thousands of jelly fish from the rooftop but only under clear skies also roof top has no shade so sun protection is advised and trends to get a bit breezy so hats need to be secure.
Good experience with kids; this ferry can be used to get you to the Basin campground easier to access via ferry than road due to steep long walk from car park to campground; The staff is very helpful and provide direction and information for us the first timer for this ferry service; The ferry is 2 levels; has clean toilets; sit at the frying or top deck for great view
On-time, efficient and fast. The ferry ride is actually quite short but has good views. Definitely better than driving, just take this ferry.
Such a nice trip from Palm Beach to Ettalong. Comfortable and plenty of room for my bike too. Can recommend the trip AND the boat/service.
Terrible experience with staff, reservations, captain. The lowest of customer service. I had pre planned with the company to use their service to transfer my newly purchased road bike from Sydney to the Central Coast. Everything was agreed to, arranged and confirmed. I drove the bike up over 3 hours from Sydney's Inner West to Palm Beach. Upon arriving at the Ferry wharf the captain/skipper Ben was rude, unhelpful, arrogant and had zero sense of the term customer service. After 10 minutes of discussion I was advised I couldnt use the ferry service as the tide was too low to offboard my roadbike on the other side. Which is fine, no one can control the tide. However what blew me away was that none of this had been advised during the correspondence with head office and reservations the week before. I was rudely told I had to wait at Palm Beach for 4 hours to be able to board the last ferry of the day. Further to that, there was zero accountability from the company about this, and the lack of customer service from the onboard staff was appalling. No sympathy, no apology for the confusion, no offer of resolution....nothing. When I was finally able to board, I was offered no assistance in securing the bike onboard, even though I was told the staff would be updated to have straps so it could be safely secured as it was transported. Im sure a safety hazzard for not only myself, the bike, but also other passengers on board. As someone who has worked in the travel and tourism industry for most of my adult life, I have never encountered arrogance and customer service like this. Will not use again.
Lovely trip from Palm Beach to Ettalong and back. I recommend this as an activity if you’re visiting the area and looking for something to do. I was lucky enough to capture these rainbows after a thunderstorm while waiting for the return ferry in the afternoon. Thanks Fanatasea
Super quick way to get over to Palm Beach from Ettalong. Price is $$$ but if you don't need your car at the other end then I personally rate the ferry over the 160+km return drive
Huge thank you to the captain who came back for me when my bus was late and I came running down the jetty at one minute past six last ferry of the day what an absolute legend!!!
Travelling from northern beaches to Ettalong, this is 100x better than trains and buses. It is a bit pricey hence one less star. It shaves around an hour off a trip and much nicer than train.
Beautiful trip, we saw a school of jellyfish and it takes a little trip around the shorelines and islands
