Was very pleased with staff Ms. Nancy there. She provided very clear instructions and helped me and daughter out with a big smile. Small things make a massive difference and she did everything to make my daughter feel at ease with the medical needs.
Dr M Chung has been our family GP since we moved to this area and my baby born in last year. We have scheduled an appointment with her to sign on my baby passport application as she seems the best and credible person to sign. We have told the receptionist we needed her to sign on this particular form and she said ok. We went all the way to the clinic and after Dr Chung screened through the form and started filling in the form, she refused to complete the form and said too many personal info. First, I understand she has the right to refuse to sign. However, if she don't want to sign, she should have refused at the beginning instead of destroying my fully filled in form so I have to spend time to fill another form again. Second, we have told the receptionist we needed to get the passport application form being signed and she said ok. If Dr Chung would refuse us at the end, we won't bother to spend time and drive all the way to the clinic. It's all about professionalism and we are very disappointed. Time to move on and look for a more caring, better communicated GP and clinic.
Dr May Chung is one of the Best Doctor we've ever seen! She always treat patients with great patience, especially for babies and young children, she's full of passion and energy, always smiling, giving useful advices. All my family members seek her advices in the past couple of years since this medical practice started business. And we also introduced her to all of our friends and colleagues and everyone is satisfied with her great service! Thank you Dr May! We hope you will be there forever! :
I had been seeing Dr May Chang at this practise for over 8 years now. She is incredibly thoughtful, caring and have excellent bedside manner. I don't live in the area anymore but I still prefer to see her as my GP than go anywhere else. Staff at the reception is very helpful as well.
To summarize my experience: okay doctor, TERRIBLE service. SERVICE: really bad time management I started visiting Familywise since August 20 and have been here 5 times or so due to my chronic anemia issue. Every single time I had to wait for 20' or more, so even for a 15' consultation I usually have to take 1.5 hours off work just in case. Yesterday I had a telehealth appointment since I had meetings back to back and couldn't take too much time off work. I waited for 15' before calling to check if my appointment was still on, to which I was told that it'd probably be another 15'. Waited for another 30', called and complained that it had been 45' and I can't wait for much longer because of work commitment and I was given a half-hearted apology "if you want to complain, you can write to our management". I finally could talk to my doctor, and gave her a heads up that I will have to end the call in 15' for a meeting which surprisingly made her furious. She spent the next 5' saying "If you don't like the way I run my practice, I'm happy to pack up your case and you can go". She kept repeating the same point despite me pleading "I hear you, can we please focus on my blood test results for now". She still sounded pretty defensive / angry for the rest 10' of the call. By then I knew that it was gonna be our last conversation. I understand that it's common for GP to be late, but it doesn't mean that they can't be sympathetic and respectful to patient's time. Imagine if it's the other way round: GP has to wait for patient for more than 20' each time - would they feel happy about this? CONSULTATION QUALITY: I came here because of the good review but my experience has been fairly average. 1. My GP doctor twice forgot that I had done certain test and asked me to repeat again, not knowing that she had actually prescribed me those before. If not for me asking her to flip back my records, I would've had to unnecessarily lose blood for meaningless tests. 2. My GP doctor asked me to go a hospital's ER for iron infusion it wasn't actually emergency as my anemia is chronic. Since the wait was gonna be 8 hours, I kept asking if there's any alternative and was told there isn't any. However, when I was given the infusion, the hospital doctor told me that this can actually be done by GP and I won't have to go to hospital next time. He acknowledged that not many GP knows this and I could tell my GP next time. So yesterday when my GP said I should go to the hospital to get transfusion again, I relay the message, to which she said something "You need to go to the hospital, if you don't trust me you can to to other doctors". I'm not sure who's right or wrong but I choose to believe my Westmead Hospital's doctor over my GP. To management team: I sincerely hope that you take my feedback constructively and makes effort to show more respect to patients' time. Dr May is so experienced and is one of the most impressive doctors I’ve seen. I have recommended all my friends and family to her in the area, the only thing is she is so popular you have to be early to nail that appointment with her. Highly recommend this doctor!
Dr May is the best Doctor I have come across. My son had been suffering from very bad cold and cough for last one month and was being treated by some other GP in the area. He was on heavy antibiotic , nebulization but there was no sign of improvement. Finally I took my son to Dr. May, she stopped all the antibiotics and changed the medicine to few nasal drops. This just worked like a magic to my son, within 2-3 day I could see remarkable improvement in his health. He is now almost recovered from his long illness. A Big Thanks to Dr. May
They cancelled my appointment within a few hours of it by calling me twice in a three minute period, not getting through and then leaving a voicemail, not bothering to tell me my appointment had been cancelled and only telling me to call them back. I tried, three times, they didn't answer the phone, so I showed up to be told the doctor had decided not to come in today and was left with no time to make a new appointment with another medical practice. Maybe call a few more times when you're cancelling on a patient, maybe leave that relevant information in the voicemail, maybe answer your phones if you insist the patient calls you back. SUMMARY: Unreliable doctor, incompetent staff, will never go there again and suggest anyone without infinite time, health and energy do the same.
Worst GP experience I had in 6 years! My wife and I both took a day off for an appointment we booked 2 weeks ago and receptionist said doctor is not available. They even did not send any notification to not walk to the centre. That's a shame. I never go to this centre and not recommended at all.
Generally polite but got turned away since I didn’t have a booking for a fresh dog bite
