I was watching a movie with a friend and half way into the movie, I was yelled to leave the cinema as I was apparently ‘breaching their law’ when I grabbed my phone out of my pocket.nI tried explaining it to them a million times that I wasn’t recording the movie or trying to stream it else where. However the stubborn staff didn’t even bother listening to a word I was trying to say.nI requested them to go through my phone and check if I did do anything wrong but not only they refused to do that, the staff then ACCUSED us by saying ‘you are going to take photos and videos’. Felt like she was stereotyping usnI have been watching movies in Australia for over 15 years and I have had my phone in my hands hundreds of times but never have I ever had a shocking experience like this.nNot only was the staff rude, they didn’t even bother listening to me, A PAYING CUSTOMER.nI understand that if I break a law or policy knowingly, I will have to face its consequences. Apparently there’s a policy that states you can’t have your phone out in your hands which we didn’t see while walking in or out of the movies nor were we shown this when the staff was being aggressive towards us. The least you would expect from a person who is responsible for an establishment like this is to give a warning first, informing them of the rule or policy, and then take action if they break it again. Not only was I asked to leave, my friend, who did nothing, who was watching the movie without an issue was asked to leave, only cause he was with me. I could have made a scene inside the cinemas and created a ruckus. I chose not to do that since I didn’t want others watching the movie to have a bad experience.nI don’t care about getting a refund for me or my friend. I just hope someone in the upper management gets on to this and stop this abusive culture of the team towards its customers. Not only was it a demoralising, disturbing and disrespectful experience, it was borderline abusive and cultural stereotyping.
Great way to cool off in the tropics for a few hours in relaxing air-conditioning, big comfy seats and huge screens. The lastest releases don't stay on too long so you need see them as soon as they arrive or you could miss out.
When we went to go see the new ghost busters movie, the queue was fast and easy. I wanted to see the new godzilla x Kong movie, but we saw the new ghostbusters movie and wasn't that bad and I got jumpscared a little bit.
Smells clean, looks clean. The normal seats are not too comfy but the leather ones are good.nnThere was an ad about child abuse before the film which I felt was strange and not really appropriate for the cinema. Not against the campaign, I think it's a good cause BUT not at the cinema.. we're here for fun and escapism right? Not to face the harsh realities of the world.
The V-Max theater is great. Massive screen and impressive audio. The seats are faux leather, large and comfortable with plenty of leg room. Equipped with jumbo size cup holders and a flat tray for phones, snacks and whatever. The concession stand serves all the usual snacks, and there is a bar available too. Buses are available on the main road outside the mall and taxi/uber pick ups are easily done from the carpark outside. It is a bit expensive, and whether or not there is a movie worthy of the cinema, playing at the time is unpredictable Hollywood has churned out its fair share of duds over the last few years. But for those big blockbusters that you have been looking forward to for months Oppenheimer, Dune etc I'd reccommend makeing the effort to see it at the V-Max
