I've been using Cmax for years and can honestly say that I much prefer using this cinema compared the other local options. It may not be as flashy/modern looking or feeling than the other cinemas locally, but don't let looks judge this cinema. The staff are always friendly, nice and courteous during every visit and have even hand delivered hot food that I've ordered into the cinema instead of having me stand around the counter waiting. The prices are always really affordable and attractive, honestly when I want to go to the cinema, watch a movie and have good time I don't want to regret it by spending an arm and a leg buying a ticket and snacks ... and with Cmax I don't. $12 per ticket roughly for an adult and near the same for a child, I can watch a movie and stuff my face with snacks and walk out spending less than $30, feels good man. I can take the kids and not sell half my house to let them have a good time. I'd recommend them for every movie, thank you for the convenience Cmax!

Seating and screen over all fine. Kids ticket prices should be different to adult. Toilets need new layer of paint and the female toilet were often dirty.
The only cinema in palmerston went to see a movie at 12:40 today the movie played the entire run and then right at the end when you're meant to see what happens the screen went black but sound still played someone went to complain and the screen went back again the cinema did not rewind to the part where it went black and then played the movie until credits went out explained to the staff that the movie went black all they had to say was that it was only black for a minute no apology no refund and no other solution this is why people download at least it's reliable. I didn't go to watch a movie only to miss the end
Not very busy, and somewhat tired in terms of appearance, but that did not detract from the viewing experience. Resonably priced, especially with free membership.
CMAX Palmerston is a well-located, onexpensive suburban cinema. It has four screens. It has ample toilets, and foyer seating. It has a modest snack bar. Tickets are priced more reasonably than the competition - $8 for seniors, for example Sept 2018. The big advantage of CMAX Palmy is the underground parking - your car is out of the sun, and you can get from car to cinema, without getting wet. However, the car-park is not wheelchair accessible. There are a limited number of car-parks at ground-level, but subject to sun and rain. The Cinema shares its carpark with Palmerston Sports Club & RSL. Which is convenient, if you desire a beverage, a snack, or a meal, before or after the movie. Recommended.
Ordered the combo pack of popcorn n soft drink, got the popcorn but the drink was just soda water, so, asked the lad at the counter to check, he checked, apologised and refilled it, same thing again soda water instead of soft drink, the lad apologised again, called the manager fixed the problem and gave me a refilled soft drink, after this I asked the manager for a empty star war popcorn tin for my inconvenience, manager un apologetic and not interested in the thought, in any other cinema one would get their money back, but not here, and on a different note, the theatre can definitely do with a make over, paint peeling off of the back wall, rhs wall looking at screen missing curtains, carpets stink, except for the lad's manners n the movie, nothing good about this place
A movie theater from the 1980's has better sound quality than this place, surround wasn't working properly at all. Move was late starting by 20 minutes and the projectionist had no sound for the first part.....Very disappointing experience
A little pricey however the theatre is clean and the seats are comfortable. The ticket booth could work faster. Line ups move slow.
Although it needs a bit of interior updating, the cinema overall is great. Frequently see movies, usually at this cinema once a week! Love the staff, and their fast service!
