Entrecôte is a French style steakhouse & bar overlooking Melbourne's magnificent Botanic Gardens in South Yarra, the bébé of collaborators firmly inclined to the French steak frites tradition.

Sitting opposite Melbourne's beautiful Botanic Gardens and metres away from the Melbourne tram Domain interchange on St Kilda road, a leisurely walk from the CBD.

A French style breakfast menu running all day 'service continue' from 7am 'til 3pm and the dining room opening at noon to do its meaty thing -right through 'til late.. every single day of the year!

My partner took me here as a surprise for my birthday and what a fantastic surprise it was. The food was delicious and we highly recommend upgrading to the crayfish. That was our favourite dish.  The service was absolutely outstanding. We were served by Michael and it was an absolute pleasure. He was incredibly friendly and helpful in picking food and drinks, and we had a spectacular time.  We can't wait to come back! Thank you Michael and the Entrecôte team for making my birthday a special one.

I'd have to say this is the Hubert's of Melbourne. Incredible interior and atmosphere with the candles and jazz. Lavish bar, courtyard and dining area are all incredible and photo worthy. The food exceeded my expectations, really fresh seafood, tasty escargot, tender steak and perfect creme brulee. Staff were excellent, only had some wrong orders brought to the table by mistake but still impeccable service and accommodating. Would highly recommend.

Such a beautiful, extremely elegant and most romantic restaurant in Melbourne. This place is where your frothy French fantasies can come true- very worth it. This restaurant features chic pops of bold colours and a great collection of fine art. We ordered the lunch set menu 2 courses and food was exceptional. Love the salmon, it was so fresh and yum. Steak was the highlight I must say, it was cooked perfectly and their signature herb sauce was everything   I really liked their cocktails as well. For the service I will give them 5/5, it was absolutely outstanding. Can’t wait to go back and try their dinner menu : .

Great atmosphere for a dinner! Relaxing music can be heard within the restaurant and the food was delicious. Would recommend getting the caviar and the oysters as they were simply divine. Will be back the next time I’m in Melbourne. Shoutout to my server who went above and beyond with the service and made my birthday extra enjoyable with some dessert on the house. Thank you!

Got the steak sandwich and the sliced roast beef baguette. The chips inside the steak sandwich was not impressive at all and was pretty soggy. The steak inside was good and so was the sauce. The roast beef sando was pretty good as well. Not sure if I’d come back but would recommend to try at least once.

The requested table and table setting upon & prior to booking was exceptional!! In addition, the service and customer service was amazing, ensuring the glass was always fulfilled and wait time was reduced to a minimum in regards to food. It was always thoroughly explained of the menu and how to order with recommendations that suit the atmosphere really well! The food itself was beyond expectations and quality service of the finest food quality!!

 A wonderful restaurant in the heart of Prahan!   The service was fantastic – from the moment the front-of-house staff took our coats, to the moment we paid the bill and left. Our waiter was helpful and provided us with her recommendations from the menu. She also checked up on us throughout the night to make sure everything was okay.   Our dishes were fresh, delicious and tasty. We really enjoyed the three-course menu.   The ambience was like no other. We really enjoyed the pianist playing soft tunes as we ate our meal, the candles on each table and the soft lighting throughout the restaurant.   Will certainly be back in the near future!

Worth the hype! We came here for lunch, but will definitely be coming back to try dinner in the future. The oysters were delicious, definitely some of the best we’ve had. All the dishes were amazing, our favourites were the entrées of salmon and goats cheese. Great cocktails as well! The restaurant itself is gorgeous and the service is great. Can’t wait to try the dinner menu.

The venue interior was luxurious and romantic. Classic dishes executed well. Perfect place for a special occasion. The pianist played only til 9pm , highly recommend to book in an earlier time. For weekend bookings I suggest to book 3 months out to get your desired date and time. I booked 2 months ahead and there weren't many times and dates left. Overall, I had lovely experience. The restaurant does briefly take you away somewhere beautiful.

First time revisiting Entrecôte since they’ve moved to Prahran and what a beautiful venue! Staff were friendly as always and they really tried to accommodate me as I am on crutches. Wish they had an accessible way for me to access the main dining room. The steaks were still good as I remembered and the lemon tart is a must order!
