Located in a tranquil part of Ormiston, Brisbane - close to the water and the heart of Cleveland. A peaceful spot to sit and have breakfast, lunch or a coffee and cake away from the busy hustle and bustle of daily life.

Story

We offer a lovely place to sit and have an all day breakfast or a lovely peaceful lunch, our menu has a wide selection of food available. We serve Merlo coffee which we feel
speaks for it's self. We try to keep our price range within everyone's reach offering a serve of toast from as little as $3.00 to our big and small breakfast which include a tea or coffee. We offer all items on the menu under $20. $18.50 being our highest meal. We have a selection of coffee and cake for those with a sweet tooth. We would love to see you here for a visit. We thought we would give a small local cafe a go. We were very pleasantly surprised. It was lovely and quiet, and the size of the meals very generous. It tasted just like mom used to make, very homely. The ladies attending the shop were helpful, friendly and happy. The wife and I will be back.

A terrible experience we had to ask the staff for cutlery which was an effort. Breakfast was ordinary. The owner that was serving looked like he did not want to be there. We will never be going back to this place. There are better cafes around only gave this one ago because all other cafes were closed.

A lovely cafe with delicious food and service. Servings where generous, coffee made well and they also have vege options. Dog friendly with parks and water near by.

Bought 2 big breakfast this morning, Eggs microwaved meant to be paoched, bacon burnt and undercooked in same rashers, chipolatas tasted nasty and had hard bits inside that needed to be removed, hashbrowns overcooked, mushrooms tasted weird couldn't identify why that was, okay on the toast beans and tomatoes,  spent next 4 hours on the toilet, used to love Elaine's but not going back again now, what a shame,   ps  took a huge wait for the food as well

Stopped here for lunch while on a bike trip from Wynnum to Cleveland. The young lady who served us was delightful, very friendly and efficient. Or meals were delicious and the other customers very sociable which only reflects on the general ambiance of the cafe itself.

A gorgeous , tasty lunch and nice Merlo coffee! The staff are lovely and friendly! A nice surprise to find! We will be back!

New Management so Blooming good food, service is good too. A the variety of beverages is not the same, but the dessert variety has increased. It has been revamped and is such a cosy place.

Elaine’s cafe exploits young workers and refuses to pay award rate for holidays. I wouldn’t recommend this cafe to anyone unless you’re happy being served by wait staff who aren’t being paid adequately. She’s told her staff she can’t afford holiday rates so therefore she’s going to just pay normal rates over holiday periods. This is unacceptable. The way she handles conflict is unprofessional. It’s not the staffs fault you can’t afford to pay award rate, and to tell them it’s their fault that you have to close because they’ve asked for adequate pay is awful.
