Such a casual yet professional place. Very friendly. I don't normally feel comfortable at gyms though I do here. Love the instructors. Enjoy the options. Just fantastic.
I had joined Edge Fitness for a 1 year contract. Once this year had ended and the fees stopped charging from my card I had decided that I no longer want to attend Edge. Multiple months later I received an email stating that I was in dept to Edge. Even though I made every payment. Turns out they dont tell you that once the years finished they will stop charging you money from your account and put it down as dept. They stated that I needed to tell them I no longer want to attend Edge, when I signed up I was never told anything about this, I was told once the years up I'm done. So now because of Edge I own them almost one thousand because they never messaged me and stopped charging from my card without telling me. I'm not going to recommend this gym to anyone all they want is your money.
Edge Health Club – more than a great gym. While this fitness facility has diverse equipment and group classes to accommodate all fitness levels, it’s the friendly community members and staff that makes Edge feel like “home”. I’ve met some amazing people over the years – some I’ll call friends for life. If I wasn’t moving away, I’d renew my ongoing, long-term membership at Edge which started in 2007 with earlier versions of the gym.
Really good gym with a lot of good equipment! There is a second floor with different areas for cardio, boxing, massage chairs and rooms for classes with personal trainers! Just about $3-4 more expensive a week than the neighbour Snap Fitness. SO worth it!
If you're in Darwin and live close by to the northern suburbs, don't look for another gym. Enjoyed my time here for over 4 years before moving interstate .
I wish there was a place we can do our exercises where we are not displaced by group classes upstairs. I wish the admin puts some planning into it. Downstairs is also crowded
A gym that is more money-focused than actual positive experience, used one of their PTs and got given horrible advice on form and hurt my back, then I moved interstate and when I tried transferring my membership, whoever came they would convince them to not go ahead and just take out a new membership. They advertise family-owned and local but treat their customers negatively as long as they gain money.
Great gym and love that it's so well equipped that you almost never need to wait for machines. My only qualm is that the group fitness classes start at 5pm - I work in the Centre and I cannot make these classes, let alone someone who works away and has to travel. 5.15 starts would be more practical, as a mum like me could do a 515 half hour Functional class and get to daycare to collect babies by 6. Apart from this, it's amazing..
I rarely write reviews but when I do it's because I've had a really bad experience. I've been coming to this gyms for years whenever I come back up to Darwin. Sure, ownership changes, facilities change but one thing is for certain, good customer service should never change. I had joined up for 4 week membership and used it once because I had no time until the last week to come to the gym as I was finishing up my employment in the University sector, due to COVID-19. I had no remorse or understanding from the administrator whatsoever. I was trying to say to her, I basically forfeited 3 weeks of my membership at my expense I paid $150 all up and only used it for one day but she had NO REMORSE for my personal situation. She even asked me to pay for a class $10 because I turned up just outside of my membership, which let me stress, I ONLY USED ONCE!!!! I've been to other gyms where they honoured my entry and even provide me with a free trial before signing up. I'm sorry Edge fitness, this has left a bad taste in my mouth I'll be taking my business somewhere else to someone who is keen to retain their customers and keep them happy.
I have been in the leisure industry most of my life and never found a gym so well equipped as Edge. The staff are very friendly and always approachable and what is nice to see is the manager on the shop floor talking to patrons on a daily basis. Edge offers something for everyone and has a family feel to the venue. The gym offers various challenges for people to participate in and a very varied activity program to suit all clientele. The gym offers creche facilities during the day to assist parents. Easily accessible with ample parking making it probably the best gym in Darwin at affordable prices for all
