Pros:nNice bakery items not found in Coles/woolies and good home brand bread.nGood variety in the deli section.nInteresting brands in freezer/shelf section-again better quality than the bigger supermarkets.nFree parking outside the door step.nnCons: prices for every day products is generally higher than the big supermarkets.nSome fruit and veg looking a little old.
A few months ago I had a rather unpleasant customer service experience at the Torrensville Drakes store. I decided to bring this to the attention of management, through writing them a polite but clear email describing my experience.nnI expected some kind of response from their management, or at least an acknowledgement that they received my email, but nothing. Zero.nnBecause there was no response whatsoever from Drakes I decided I will no longer spend my money at their store. As much as I like the idea of supporting smaller supermarkets like Drakes, they have now lost my business and I will do my shopping at Woolies or other supermarkets.
THIS ACTUALLY CROSSOVER THAI RESTAURANT NOT DRAKES.nVery clean, with friendly staff. Even it was 25minutes to closing we were able to order.nFood was fresh and hot. Spring rolls, chicken satay, sweet and sour pork, tea smoked duck, which was magnificent.nDrinks and food very reasonable prices.nNext time will try the pancakes.
I recently had a very disappointing experience at Drake’s Torrensville. One of the staff members, Keira, was incredibly careless and unprofessional.nnWhile bagging my groceries, she shoved them into the bags so roughly that several items broke. When I brought it to her attention, she didn’t seem to care or offer any solution. It felt like she had no respect for the customers or the items we pay for.nnI expect better service and basic care when shopping, and this experience was far from acceptable. I won’t be returning to this location unless I see improvement in how staff treat their customers and handle goods.
I recently visited Torrensville Drakes, which isn’t my usual store! A couple items were in different spots but thankfully staff member Johnathon helped me find everything I needed to whip up dinner that night. Brilliant customer service all round, it’s going to be worth the extra drive to use Torrensville as my new usual store!!!!
