Drake is a relaxed neighbourhood eatery. We're open 7 days a week from 8am til 10pm for lunch, dinner, snacks or drinks.

Story

Driven by a focus on produce that is seasonal, sustainable and locally sourced wherever possible, Drake is the first restaurant by owner and head chef Ian Oakes. Reflecting Ian’s passion for innovative food, Drake’s menu is guided by the availability of quality ingredients and is designed to share.

Drake is a place to unwind and have a snack and drink at the bar, or settle in and enjoy sharing a meal with friends. Choose a bottle from one of the interesting wineries featured on our wine list or kick back with a cocktail from our seasonally rotating drinks list.

Great menu and clever food, sits perfectly for the price point and location. So rare to find a chef that knows his offering/market segment and delivers to it. Doesn’t try to be something he’s not and as a result elevates delicious products beyond its station. Needs chicken protein on the menu somewhere, but aside from that it’s a genuinely good restaurant.
Quite lovely ambiance with nice staff and quality food. Portion sizes are quite small for the price but quite tasty. The Angus steak and fish were both great entrees and the burrata as an appetizer was nice as well.
The food was very average considering the price in my opinion. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is spacious and clean. Thanks for the experience.
Loved the food .The service was excellent .I'm now in love with iceberg lettuce again after eating their side dish .The line caught fish ,a crisp skinned barramundi was awesome ....Dessert .As the rest of the meal was delicious, we got two to share rather than our usual one to share . Oh, I nearly forgot ,if you like spice...the spicy margarita is the best I've had .

Two diners. Two opinions. My wife had the cauliflower entre and fish main and thought it was superb. I had the goat cheese souffle entre which was very nice but my duck breast main was just so so and both the potato and salad sides were totally bland. Overall at a cost of $185 for the two of us I thought it was pricey for a less than amazing meal. However my wife would say the opposite.
It's okay. It's one of those restaurants that you'd come for consistency while at Bondi area, but not a restaurant that I'd specially come all the way for. Like what some of the other reviewers mentioned, for the price paid, the experience was good but not great.Food: 3/5
Food was amazing! We don't normally, but ordered 3 courses to be able to try as much as possible. We stumbled across Drake when wandering around Bondi and were SO GLAD. Service was perfect balance of attentive and helpful without over-doing it. Extra points for zero alcohol beer and cocktail options!
Great little spot. Surprised they opened late so tried it out & was a great decision. Food was great, staff were great - definitely recommend!
Definitely one of my new fav places to have dinner at. Superb dishes, full of flavours and texture. The menu was definitely thought thru and is a little different which we loved! Highly recommend the meat, also the gnocchis were TO DIE FOR Delicious espresso martini too Really lovely staff very helpful and polite. Love love love
