Updated March 2018: New owners have made DD even better. Staff as friendly as always, coffee is terrific, and burgers (try the Southern Fried) are A+. Upmarket cafe with the ability to easily manage the big lunchtime crowds of central agency public servants. Friendly staff and prompt service. Good menu spanning grab n’ go sandwiches/wraps and salads, and made-to-order (and excellent) burgers and hot food. Prices very reasonable for Barton and Canberra. Licensed, and happy hour on Friday arvos is especially recommended.

Have had 2 coffee orders wrong in 2 weeks. When they get it right, it takes way too long for coffee to be made... Can't be that hard. Upped star rating to 3 due to very kind staff and cool outdoor area. Baristas need to be quick

To the new owners. You have absolutely butchered and re-arranged my favourite place in Barton. I believe I speak for most of the people in Barton who used to visit DD under the management of the previous owner Pete, when I say the place has lost its core and everything the previous owner worked so hard to develop and this wasn't just the food and price of things. I think you should've purchased a blank canvass and after building it, rebranded it Double Drummer.. Word of advice.. talk to the people and talk to your staff before people completely boycott the place..

Interior and exterior fit out is funky and fun! Loads of space and plenty of light if you need to work. It took around 20 minutes for me to get a pot of tea and it was warm not hot. Would certainly try again however as it seems like a fun place to do Friday drinks!!!

The food is really good but the service is pretty hit and miss depending who serves you. Some consistency in the service and portions between all the staff would be nice.
