Salt cafe is fantastic! Breakfast served by the pool is relaxing with a lovely breeze. The food itself is really well cooked and delicious. It has great variety with something for everyone. The service is also fantastic

Not overly impressed - Rooms are dated & look worn out, desperate for a face lift. Which would have been fine if the rooms were clean & maintained. But had noticable balls of hair on the floor, lamps/power points that didn't work & shared our room with a colony of ants passing through. There is also no linen or cleaning service once you check in. Some of the staff were friendly but most weren't & rarely spoke when greeted. Must say though that the groundsman was extremely friendly & is doing a superb job at keeping the gardens looking great. The pool is lovely but by end of weekend had allot of sediment, hair & was not very inviting. Would also benefit if they had some form of shade around the pool to sit under. Food from the restaurant was very good & cooked perfectly, a bit pricey but worth it. Drinks were over priced compared to what we usually pay, so bought our own in. All in all for $150per night I would have expected more/better service not just here's your room & see you on check out. If staff were friendly, provided great service & the room clean with spare linen then everything else would have been easy to over look & forgotten. Unfortunately would look elsewhere for accommodation if back in the area

Enjoying a short stay in mackay. Dolphin heads resort is welcoming and easy going. Time slows down and its back to the old days where everyone has time to say hello. Had dinner at the restaurant and food was delish. Our studio unit is well equipped, clean and bright.

Really liked this place. Quiet and relaxing. Great view. Only negative is the beach is mainly rocks put there most probably to stop erosion. Great sitting there and having the ducks and possums come visit for a sneaky feed. Really happy i stayed here and would have booked another night if not for travel plans.

Great location and pool area, rooms need updating, management and staff were not very pleasant or helpful.
