Love it - period. 5 stars. OK, so the staff don't always smile from ear-to-ear. So what? I come for the food. I went there again today. The sales person did smile from ear-to-ear... and the food was great. The place is clean and not expensive at all.
Ordered the King Prawn Pizza - never thought they would be actual chunks of garlic thrown on it along with the barely-there small prawns. We went on Easter Saturday & understand it was busy but that’s just lazy, poor effort.
More of a 3.5 starts. Sometimes the staff can be a bit rude and there is always bugs in the salad for some reason… The pizzas are good and the fish & chips are nice. Nice location and pricing is reasonable. Thanks!
Sounds like hit and miss with this place. Sometimes staff can be a little short. But hey. This is a popular place so lots of customers means things may occasionally go wrong I guess. We’ve been here many times and not had a bad experience thankfully. Food is always great for us. My wife and daughter just love the prawn sandwich. Great location right on the water. Grab a cool drink, or even one from the next door bar if you want. Bring your dog and sit outside!
Fish was fresh and delicious, and the chips are amaaaazing the best!. Great local place. I'm not sure what the low scores are about as it's not fine dining, but as I said great seafood in a casual environment with a great view of the boats and marina.
There was nothing to like at this restaurant. The staff couldn’t answer basic questions about the fish they were selling, the oysters were brown and dry, but they claimed they were fresh since they have been shucked early in the morning, and now it was evening, the battered fish was dry, and the tables had not been properly wiped down. It was generally grubby. Ended up at another restaurant in Mackay a six minute drive away where the seafood was fresh and outstanding. Check out the seafood restaurant located in an industrial park and you won’t be disappointed. I returned the oysters to the young girl who claimed they were fresh and suggested that she eat them instead of me! Won’t be back And I hope others read this before taking time to go here.
Coral trout was clean white delicate and delicious. Calamari was great. The young lady that served me was polite and well trained. I'm not sure what the low scores were for, this place was great.
Decent place to eat around here, the fish was nice and fresh however other seafood was less impressive and tasted store bought or frozen like the calamari. The oysters looked nice and decent size however were very gritty and didn't taste good
We have been here numerous times and have had excellent food and service. Unfortunately yesterday wasn't one of those. The fish was really dry and tasteless. The chips were great though. The service I got was efficient but not friendly although the lady who took over service was great with customers after me.Food: 2/5
I would leave zero stars if I could. The chicken schnitzel was not fresh and very tough and so was the fish. The chicken tender in the kids meal was too spicy. Everything was difficult to cut with wood cutlery and the table was dirty. Not going back.
