Welcome to DJs. Welcome to Driving For More.

DJ Motors is a Tasmanian car dealership that doesn’t just sell cars. Driving For More is our commitment to always give more, do more and help more. It’s something DJ Motors have been doing since 1962 when founder David Johns and his son Michael created a business, a standard of service and a legacy. Today James Johns, a third generation of the Johns family, is ensuring that DJ’s commitment to the people of Tasmania not only continues, but becomes even more.

With over 100 employees, state-of-the-art service centres and Australia’s most loved and trusted car brands, DJs represents the pinnacle of the automotive retail industry. But we’re not stopping there. We’ve been proudly supporting countless community organisation areas including health, sport and education for over 50 years. And now we’re going to do even more.

Make sure if your car has to go in for a recall that you inform them not to steal the number plate frame surrounds that you have (and own) & then replace them with their own branded ones, so you drive around advertising them for free. They also remove the dealer sticker on the rear window of your car and decorate it with a DJ's sticker. This is just plain rude.

My tale with DJ was unfortunate. I puchased a used car pajero platinum late 2016 with a workshop cert and advice it was immaculate. On getting into the car I noted a foglight with multiple fractures. Which DJ happily agreed to repair and had missed on inspection. I then had a service booked in december. On trying to get my first service underway in december.... i was then told to wait untill feb. I expressed grave concern at the extensive wait. I was reassured it would not alter anything. At the time of booking i explained the fog light issue to three people and mentioned the car had a slight shudder. You will see from the post date feb has come around. I have walked out of my first delayed (by DJ) service with a quote of 2000 dollars because the shudder is due to ALL rotors being faulty, and below MINIMUM thickness to simply machine. I have discussed this with management today and told it was probably my driving (implying bad) resulting in the problem by an individual i will not name publicly. I was given very terse, angry replies when i asked how that could have possible worn and warped 4 large 4wd rotors in only a few months? I was told "what do you expect buying a used car" by a staff member on 19.1.2017 at 2:14 pm It has left me angry, dissapointed and upset i spent so much more money buying from a 'reputable' dealer. The service team was lovely. Particualry vanessa on the phones who is a gem. With a real flare for people. I dont think I have ever ranted publicly about anything, ever before. I can only repeat the advice I personally received from DJ "what do you expect buying a used car" Thankyou.

People answering the phone should be more patient and atleast try to listen to the customers
