The door staff greeted me in a friendly manner and listened to my request before issuing me with a ticket. I was told which counter I'd be attending, as it was a driving license matter. I was asked to have a seat and to expect a short wait. I attended the counter within 30 minutes and had my issue dealt with by Ian in a friendly and informative manner. No problems!
Just a question. You don't need to have customer service skills to get the job at DOT? Or the DOT does not give them training? Just went there to return the plates because my car was written off. I was waiting for the guy to ask me if my was was involved in an accident and if what date. But he just kept his mouth shut and handed over me the receipt and I was like yeah my car was involved in an accident last month and that Mr rolled up his eyes and telling me it is too late now fill up this form do this do that .. I was in was waiting for you to ask me he was like WHY WOULD YOU THINK I WAS GOING TO ASK YOU THIS QUESTION? I replied because I thought you were bringing up the details and going to ask. He said... no we don't do that here... SERIOUSLY DOT?????????
I have visited the Cannington branch twice, once for registering my vehicle and once for submitting the application for transferring my license. Both times, I had a pleasant experience. The staff is very helpful and despite of the large amount of people they service, the waiting time is not much
I visited the Department of Transport in Cannington on a Saturday to transfer my interstate license, but my application was rejected simply because I have a second first name. The person who served me clearly lacked empathy and didn’t seem to know what she was doing, treating me as if I were a completely different person.nnThe Cannington branch is terrible—the atmosphere is bad, the place is not clean, and the overall environment feels unprofessional. The queues were unbearably long, the customer service was poor, and it felt like there was discrimination against my name. Despite having all the proper Australian documents, I was still denied.nnTransferring a license in WA is unnecessarily difficult compared to other states. I strongly advise others to avoid this branch and try a different location for a better experience. The WA Department of Transport needs serious improvements in its processes, staff training, and the quality of its offices. Such a disappointing experience.
I took my 94-year-old mother to get a photo card. We were met at the door and sent to a fast queue where we got prompt and polite service. Thanks to the staff.
