I had to go for my practical today. This was technically my first actual test because the very first one I had taken, I didnt even get to have a chance to drive because my car battery died on the day.nEven though this was upsetting, the assessor, I dont remember his name but his number was 2463, was super nice and explained everything nicely before the vehicle check. He explained the process and what he was going to do.nnToday was not the same experience at all. I had a lesson before the assessment and used my instructor's car to avoid any problems.nI waited nervously and my assessor this time came out to meet me. His name is Dave 2464 From the get go, he was surly and had a rude vibe. I tried to ignore it and ensure myself it was just nerves and that I am probably being sensitive and he is just doing his job.nnWe walked out to the vehicle which was parked on the far right. He said to me he was going to conduct a vehicle check in a moment, and that I should go and sit in the car and make myself comfortable.nnI cross the road and get in the car. He is still standing on the opposite side of the road. I sit there and put my seat belt on and I am waiting for him to cross the road and conduct the vehicle check.nnHe does not do this and continues standing across the road which I found odd because the other guy didnt do that so I look at him confused. He then sticks his left arm in the air. I didnt know what he was doing. I mouthed 'are we starting?' because I still didnt understand. He gave an angry expression and sticks his arm out again.nnKeep in mind he is standing across the road with cars passing inbetween so thats why i was confused. I wind down my window to ask or at least hear him say something he said nothing and just rolled his eyesnnEventually I am like 'oh the indicators, right' so I proceed to do everything he asks after he finally crosses the road and ACTUALLY explains what he was doing.nHe checks the vehicle. He gets in.nnI will admit I am a very nervous driver and make some mistakes when I am nervous. But the whole time, even though I take responsibility, I truly believe the reason I was more high strung, was because of this guy.nnHe genuinely seemed irritated my presence even before I started making mistakes, and I was so put off by him that I tensed up and panicked, making even more mistakes and they werent normally things that I would usually do.nnWe didnt even do the complete assessment, he made me drive back early, he seemed pissed off anytime i asked for clarification even though he said at the start I was allowed to ask for him to repeat instructionsnnHe was cold, mean and horrible. I was a crying mess the whole drive home and it doesnt make me want to go back there for testing.nnI checked the reviews online to see if anyone else had experienced this or if I was just being oversensitive, and sure enough there are 3 other reviews stating the exact same vibe and experience I had.nnAlso I got my review back immediately and although some of it is correct, he has put down that I didnt stop at stop signs or give ways which I did. I was extremely slow through some parts because it was school hours as you are meant to go 40 or below and I do agree that my flow was extremely hesitant.nnI was emotionally preparing myself beforehand if I didnt pass, because thats just life and I know I have nerves, but I truly believe that this assessor needs retraining. He made the whole experience more stressful than it should have been.nnGood Luck to anyone else who has to sit their test with him, because his whole vibe is grumpy and horrible.
A staff was at the door to enquire the reason for our visit which made it very fast for us to get a number as opposed to a self-service counter which may have required each customer to do some reading before selecting the right option.nnMy category based on the 2 alphabets in front, appeared to be the least common one because VP and VQ and a whole other pair of alphabets were being called up except mine. So i was rather puzzled that it took 20 min for mine to be called up.nnThe staff who attended to me was pleasant and professional and efficient. I spent 5 min at the counter and was done. So the bulk of my time spent there was mainly waiting for my number to be called. FYI I entered at 11am.
Very busy and I had to wait an hour for customer service, but it was efficient and friendly. The staff member knew exactly what I needed and how to get it done. Excellent service. Note - there are no toilets.
Been here 5x for my Learner’s Permit and renewal, Theory, HPT, and PDA. Depending on the day/time, there may be very long waits but I’ve always received good service. Staff I speak with are always happy to help. Today, I took my PDA and wanted to give a shoutout to Lance, my Assessor, who was pleasant from start to finish. I was so nervous but he was very professional and spoke calmly when I needed clarification. He made it feel like I was just on a normal drive, he was so soft spoken, happy to provide clarity, and made the whole experience comfortable..Thank you so much DOT Cannington for the pleasant experiences each time! nnI honestly haven’t been to other DOT centres so I’m not sure if I got lucky with the service I received but I guess with the right attitude and mindset, staff will reciprocate as with other businesses.
I was shocked at the sight ive walking into this place! It looked like an immigration centre! I went in just to get my pension rate rego changed from one sold car to the new one the Asian guy hadn't a clue & said you centrelink card doesn't have middle name i said that's how it comes he said you must go back to centrelink lol i said go get your manager she came back couldn't work it out then another manager came ! & said oh easy the other two looked like it was there first day on the job ! With all the cash this place makes you would think there training programs would be top notch! I could see many other disappointed clients walking out & have trouble with the help there for crying out loud hire & train them up properly!
