My dad was well looked after by the team at Della for 5 weeks for respite while my mum, his carer, went overseas to visit family. The team was very caring, from placing a movement sensor underneath his bed so a staff member can come into the room to check on him when he gets up to go to the bathroom overnight to including him in well-being activities. Even my dad commented how well the older residents were being looked after by the staffs including spoon feeding. It was easy to reach Nishan, the Director, for any questions. I would not hesitate to bring dad back for further respite.
When we had to find a care home for Mum, Delladale was the first place we looked at and upon leaving the home l felt if that’s the standard lm happy. Looked at others closer to me but none suited like Delladale. Mum had the best of care from the moment she entered the home till she recently closed her eyes peacefully and permanently.nCannot recommend highly enough, well managed, fantastic,caring staff who keep you well informed
Monday 30th of September 2024. Again l went and seen my father this morning to find neglected care due to ants in my fathers bad while he was given and eating his breakfast. This ant problem happens everyday and both is being done to rectify and stop the problem. This is a very concerning health issue. And to see a nurse just brush them off and then give my father is breakfast is discussing. Then I witness seeing even more ants appear crawling out from under his pillow and his sheet is horrifying. The age care commission will be notified and picture sent to them. I have requested for my father to be moved to a better room where he doesn’t have to be invaded and have to wake up with ants in his bed.nAnd I just get told excuses and that they will put a poisons any bait in how actual room, that in it’s self my be breaking all sorts of health regulation to when it comes to the obligation and care operation manual and guidelines that the age care commission govern.nnMy father was neglected with his care. They didn’t feed him probably or hydrate him correctly. This ended up in my father being taken to hospital and the on the addition form it said “they call ambos and said he has had a possible stroke… but he never had a stroke, after tests he was malnutrition, dehydration and a fractured arm that was just about healed” and a complaint has been submitted to the “AgeCare quality & safety Commission”.nI highly recommend looking at other options.nAnd weeks before that 2 of the night stuff assaulted my dad and had broozes on his chest.nWe tried contacting the manager of the facility and not once did we get a call back. Practically impossible to talk to anyone from senior management. Even the hospital said is was neglect!
Our dad spent time in Respite at Della Dale. The staff were wonderful! Kind and compassionate and we felt dad was happy and comfortable. It has a very homely feel to it and being smaller, the residents get to know the staff as they are not dealing with agency etc. We appreciate all your care Nishan and team! Thank you, Angela
Our beautiful mum was so fortunate to spend some time with the team at Della dale aged care facility. Nishan and the team cared for her with such kindness, compassion and integrity.nnNothing was too much trouble with daily face time calls arranged, constant communication and updates provided. They also created a wonderful selection of activities to keep her both engaged and socialised.nnWe are saddened that her time here has come to an end as we are sure she will miss it too.nnWe can not recommend Della dale highly enough!
