We’re visitors from the USA, we were treated with patience and kindness by the very pleasant staff here. Very welcoming. For example, visitors may not intuitively know what “P120” means, some non-communications back room civil servant person devised that, but the staff without laughing said oh yeah that is indeed unclear, you may park for free for 120 minutes. Nice. This is a nice place for light eats or breakfast/brunch. Coffee was good, they grilled a la plancha iron as they say in Miami my breakfast sandwich, and my wife had their good minute steak. This is a nice place in a nice town.
This restaurant is a popular cafe-restaurant in Orewa. My partner and I ordered two coffees along with the big breakfast and the spicy sausage breakfast for our brunch.nOverall, the meals were satisfactory. Despite my partner's hunger, the food effectively filled our stomachs. While the restaurant maintains a good reputation, I personally find it good but not exceptionally outstanding.
Stopped in for a cup of coffee around 9am on a Friday while driving up the coast. Plenty of seating. Clean bathroom. Nice service. Coffee was a bit too bitter for our taste . We did not eat
This is not a bad or good review, just a bit of constructive criticism. The coffee was very nice, the bacon and scrambled eggs were nice but the corn fritters were very salty. Also with the presentation, it would look much nicer if the corn fritters were stacked and the scrambled eggs added to the main plate of corn fritters.
We are on holiday here and aimed to only eat at each restaurant once…this was our exception to that rule. The food was so good the first time we had to come the morning of our last day in town as well. The flat white was fantastic both times. The Dear Coasties Benedict was so delicious and we love that it is served on a rosti—made for a very filling breakfast between two people. The second time we got the avocado smash—the presentation was gorgeous and all the flavors tied perfectly together. It was a lighter meal but equally tasty! Highly recommend this spot!
