I had a lovely experience today at David Jones. I went in to grab something that was put aside for me. The lady who I spoke to yesterday who was also lovely was not available and was on lunch. But Linda my new friend went above and beyond to find the item and finalise the transaction. Thanks for your friendly and genuine customer service Linda! Additionally, I had the best chicken schnitzel sandwich I have had in years upstairs at the cafe in the food court. The whole complex was a little like stepping back in time to the 2000s, but what a lovely time it was :
This review is for the cafe in David Jones Malvern Central. I'm there most Wednesday mornings and it's a really busy time for the cafe. Over recent weeks, management has left one staff member ON HIS OWN valiantly trying to do everything, but customers keep lining up because he makes good coffee and he's super charming. I've started going elsewhere at that time so as not to add pressure and because it's uncomfortable watching him being unfairly overwhelmed. Do better, cafe management. Schedule another staff member. Treat your staff and customers decently.
20 minutes of waiting at concierge to pick up a click and collect because the sole David Jones staff member at that desk wanted to chat about home renovations with the previous customer who she was 99% of the way through wrapping a gift for. They went through flooring options, kitchen bench top options etc. She was completely oblivious to the fact that there were multiple customers waiting. Great reason to not go into the store.
As a local I shop at DJ’s Malvern Central regularly’ without doubt I find the mature staff more helpful & professional ‘ friendly & experienced.nThe homewares section has a lady named Kavita working hard to please her customers and go beyond her normal sales duties to help her customers ‘ Well done Kavita ‘nAlso another lovely sales lady is Linda ‘ again professional & helpful ‘ Thanks Ladies !
Was at the register waiting approx 20 mins for staff member, nobody showed up, so I put the item back & left the store. Not the first time I've experienced bad service here, staff have also expressed rudeness on other occasions.
