The classic American burger is super tasty. Much better than the much hyped Mary's down the street. The fries were also pretty awesome. Pretty good for pub food. Also a large outdoor roof area with sunbrellas. No smoking up there which is AWESOME.
The Botany View at first glance is not where you would expect to have a top notch meal at pub prices. The decor is modest but the menu is amazing! The crowds that gather here every night know where the good food in Newtown is. It's like having a top end meal that actually fills the belly and doesn't sting the wallet! Highly recommend it.
Hit up this old favourite on Thursday night and was pleased to find a seat downstairs past the pub trivia. The menu had an excellent range, with meals starting around the $10 mark, and more gourmet servings coming in just under $30. Chose the slow-roasted lamb with mash, garlic greens, and haloumi. The lamb was rare and succulent, with the combination of vegetables and mash doing an admirable job of mopping up the gravy-like sauce. The haloumi was a nice touch, adding some saltiness to a very rich meal. I was very hungry, and after seeing the portion size had my doubts, but was pleased to walk out satisfied.
Dont be fooled by the clientele that sit at the front pub.... once you walk through to the back and order from the extensive bar and restaurant then move upstairs - you are suddenly transported to a family friendly level with outdoor space. The food here is fantastic... order the pork belly or salmon...
Lamb linguine was excellent , but small for $26. Beef sausages were average. Could do more with the dining room.

This is one of the best kept secrets on King St. Such amazing food - not worthy of a pub! Never been disappointed with anything I've ordered here.
Love this place. There is a great menu and the food is delicious. Dining area is a bit noisy, but the outside area is great.
Have visited a few times now and have been more than satisfied each time. Delicious food and friendly, casual service. Big props.
The food was really average. I got barramundi quesadilla and tater tots and they were both a bit cold and just an odd sort of mixtures of flavours...
